What to do about leaves/abandons due to ISP problems.

Obviously when your ISP or otherwise stable internet connections cuts off, it can lead to frustration. How could Riot or the players handle leaves/losses/bans due to issues such as this? I bring this up because my ISP is typically really solid, but just 10 minutes ago, it cut out for long enough for my team to /ff in the first ranked game of the season. I would hate to see punishment for this, when it is entirely out of my control. Suggestions?

You don't get punished for one leave, though. You'd have to do it consistently over a short period of time to get punished. If your internet is dying consistently due to your ISP, that's not really Riot's problem either. Talk to your ISP and don't play team games (especially ranked) until it's better. It's not fair for your teammates, whether it's intentional or not.

they should be banned/suspended because they shouldn't be playing if they have a sketchy internet connection

This has always been a problem for Riot, and they can't really do much about it. Sure, it may not have been your fault, but the fact you were not there meant that the rest of your team had to get punished for your own personal shit.

It is like someone being forced to go to school while extremely sick; sure it is out of your power to fix the sickness and it wasn't your choice to come, but other people are going to be suffering (by getting sick themselves or distracted by your hacking and coughing) because of your own personal misfortune.

While I understand that preliminary banning/reporting makes sense for just straight up leaving, I feel like an appeal system would be good for this kind of thing. Let us say, hypothetically, that an appeal system was in place. After being banned for leaving/disconnecting, I would go get logs from my ISP of when the net dropped. Compare that with when the game occurred and prove it was out of my control. Or have the launcher track the difference between me force closing it and my internet no longer working. Granted, the later would lead to people pulling the plug and then whining, so I imagine that wouldn't work very well.
