Dear Riot, Please explain the new ranking system a bit more completely.
Lots of people don't really understand the way the leagues system work. Everyone has a hidden mmr which determines the players that they will be matched with. It is probably the case that most people have a hidden mmr that more or less corresponds to the LP and division that they are in or at least significant numbers of people do which enables people to look at the ranks of their team and opponents to guess where they actually lie. When you are in plat 5 and being matched mostly with people in gold 2 and 3 you should know that your account is lower than it ought to be and you should take care that you don't demote.
I wrote this so people would easily understand the questions I would place below.
@riot pls

What happened to the MMR of people in division 5 of a tier? Did their MMR change as well as my visible rank? I have no way of knowing since before the change I was placed with plat 5 people in games, and now I am placed with plat 4's. Since everyone changed division I can't tell.

There were 20 divisions between bronze 5 and platinum 1. Now there are 20 divisions between iron 4 and platinum 1. This makes me believe that currently a plat 5 player (me) should probably be gold 1 under the new system to maintain equivalence between the new 5 tiers and old 4 tiers. Is this correspondence more or less true?
-
Is diamond 1 is the new master tier or at least part of it? So that would make the current D2 into the new D1.
-
If there is no correspondence between old and new - ie: my questions/attempt to compare in 2 and 3 is wrong, Where do the new leagues correspond to. Once the furore of the new system is settled a bit where does iron lie? Is Iron 1 more or less the old bronze 2 or is it somewhat lower?
Thanks very much for reading.
Paul
