The difference between supports and mages/Yasuo, Teemo.

These are the wannabe supports I've been seeing at bot lane......Brand, Annie, Vel'Koz, Xerath, Veigar, Yasuo, Teemo, Twisted Fate, Malzahar, Ziggs

Why I call them wannabe because all these champions above don't have supportive kits weren't designed to be supports at all yet people are playing them as supports.

I feel people need to be reminded of what makes a support and why a support is actually important so here is a list of 27 actual support champions in this game and the abilities they have that make them support options.

There the 27 supports in this game, now I'm not saying that all these supports are good supports, but before you go picking a Brand, or a Vel'Koz look at these ones above and please give them consideration afterall riot made these champions with the idea of being a supportive champion. They didn't make Brand or all these other mages going bot lane supports, they weren't design that way. And correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the summoner's code state that to have fun but not at the expense of others. I adc and I support, I chose these two positions so I almost never have to fill and also because it gives me a unique view point of both sides. And either way I don't want to play with or against a Brand support, win, I just feel like we cheated the enemy team, lose it's almost certainly because their jungler knew what to do against this lane of course other than feeding other lanes. Please riot stop allowing this shit it's not fun to play against and as an adc, it's not really fun to play with it, they almost always push my wave too fast and put me as a main Ashe adc at a disadvantage having to overextend just to farm, ntm the constant ks because of it.

Now on another note tanks are fine at bot lane some good tanks are like Malphite, Blitzcrank, Alistar, Sejuani, Trundle, Shen, and I'm sure there are several others not all tanks can do it like Cho'Gath which depends on using his R on enemy champions and some minions to grow in size, but still they aren't there to burst an enemy down and without an adc almost never can single handedly get a kill, they're there to support their adcs, mages are not.

Before I received arguments what can Brand do to protect me from a dive, or jungle gank? if they use up their one ability like Pillar of Flame or Veigar's Conditional Stun they got nothing to protect their own adcs and leave them to be executed with very little an adc can do about it. These mages are more likely to get a triple kill than they are to protect their adc. Which yeah cool, but they're supposed to be supports, if they aren't protecting their team in some way then why are they playing support?

It's not fun, and tilts me to no end because I can't trade with these type of champions, they are designed to burst me down that's their job, and I'm forced to play passive if not outright hug my fucking tower the whole laning phase just trying not to die there's no fun in that and really not much counterplay I don't want these mages to get nerfed.........that's not what I'm asking but riot needs to stop encouraging it, nerfing them doesn't solve the problem it just makes them unplayable in mid where most of these champions belong. Start banning people that are playing mages bot lane not Zyra, or Lux, or Morgana which are mage supports, but I mean actual mages like Brand, Annie, and Xerath. It goes against the summoner's code it is grieving and I report it every game 90% of my reports are because of shit like this, and before people are like well nothing is going to happen to them, actually I can tell you truthfully yes, I've gotten people in trouble for playing champions like this at bot lane, because they could of chose Sona, Nami, any actual support up above and instead they chose to try an all in cheese like Brand at bot the equivalent of the zerg's fucking 6 pool in my mind.

It either works or it's fails miserably, and if a mage loses laning phase they don't have ap items their lower on level and therefore practically useless when team fights come around while if they would of chose Soraka or Sona, or Lulu, shit even Anivia their utility in their kits makes them useful no matter what even if they are behind.

I don't think support necessarily equals utility. They're just the champion who is going botlane and sacrificing their income to a champion designed to scale. Technically, any champion can support, but some are just better at it than others.

I'd argue that high-damage mage supports are valid. Artillery mages like Brand and Vel'koz can do quite well as a support due to their range, allowing them to zone the enemy from the minion wave and give their teammate a health and CS lead over their enemy. Low-range mages like Annie and Veigar bring powerful stuns and burst damage to the table, discouraging all-ins and adding additional pressure when they get a lead.

Things like Teemo or Ashe support are meme strats more than anything, only really good for being annoying and keeping the enemy from landing CS every now and then. Not optimal, but not the worst.

Champions that have no right supporting are champs like Yasuo and TF, since they're the ones that want to get fed and scale. They'd be better off as the ADC with someone else supporting them.

You can't keep people from picking weird things. You can't control what your teammates do. What you can control is how you respond. You can flame out your teammate and blame them, or you can roll with it and try to make the best of it. The former is a guaranteed loss, while the latter has the potential to be a win. From a competitive standpoint, it's optimal to shut your mouth, stop typing, and focus on your own actions, not your teammates'.
