Why no Zara!?

I’m more or less curious why Zyra isn’t picked up in professional play? When she’s regularly referenced to be a terror. I get that her plants ARE HER DAMAGE and without those she doesn’t do a whole lot except zone w/ her ultimate. Or if two people have the coordination they can kill them fast. All that said, it’s still worth it to me - I only play Zyra and I don’t worry about matchups most of the time at my elo. Working around her is very worth it, and not actually that hard .. she has an amazing build path and can become insanely annoying mid/late game. Especially in this objective focused meta, all they fight around is the lane/drake pit and baron Top river side. All great, great spots for her to flourish.

So, WHY is she NOT played in any region on stage!?

Zyra used to before her rework.

But now she doesn't do anything better than any other support.

I was thinking that she doesn’t do anything “better” as well but leading the dmg charts every. Single. Game. Is impressive from the support role. Pyke is similar in that way too. I just find it hard to believe they play around some of the worst champs in League (ie, Yuumi, Soraka (We’ve seem good teams take large dumps on her) etc.) But not a champ like Zyra!? Mind boggles me sometimes.

It's just that Zyra, when compared to supports like Yuumi, Soraka, Pyke, etc. doesn't have many tools in her kit.

She has a poke, that was reworked to be weaker, she has plants, that were reworked to be weaker while giving her the opportunity to create more, that really only leaves her E and R that weren't reworked to be weaker.

Meanwhile other supports have all sorts of things they can do, besides just deal damage, with multiple sources of CC, some kind of healing, self or otherwise, and more build paths besides just damage.

If Zyra is to be seen in pro play again, she needs more tools at her disposal. I mean her passive and W are the same ability.
