Kalista release on patch 4.20. Makes perfect sense now.

I only noticed recently, but Kalista's release, the lack of forethought, and the patch of 4.20. Not just coincidence. I'm fairly certain that they were high as kites when they thought she was a good idea.

I've been around the boards today and I'll compile a short list of good suggestions I've seen or said.

  • Slows should reduce Kalista's leap range by their slow %.
  • Give her passive 'leap' stacks, limiting the number of times she can just leap.
  • Increase the range she leaps towards targets and reduce the range she leaps away from them. She's a hunter, not a runner. Make her feel that way
  • Not directly related to Kalista, but the point still stands. Listen to the feedback from PTR before you release something.

The reason they didn't do this is obvious. It would make her incredibly snowbally (more so than she already is.)

i REALLY like the idea of increasing her leap distance when she leaps towards them and reducing it when she leaps away, although that makes her seem more like Vayne which is probably why they didn't do that

the way it feels now is she's like a spectre, very slippery. the passive 'leap' stacks would be a good idea, although she needs a way to get them. rewarding her for resetting the cooldown on rend would be a good way to get a stack, which would, as riot puts it, a way to separate the good kalistas from the great ones

a kalista without stacks would be so vulnerable it's unreal though, if she has no stacks her auto attack animation shouldn't be locked in and she should be able to orbwalk like the other adcs.

although the slow thing kindof in already, her movespeed dictates how far she leaps, i'm not sure if that's affected by movespeed debuffs/buffs or not, but it's worth testing
