Pool Party week goals being set too high?

To be quite honest, I really don't think we're going to get past even level 3. After 2 days we've gotten what seems to be around 8 million points and if we keep up the same pace we won't even get Level 4, maybe Riot could scale the recommendations down somewhat so the goals are a little more attainable.

EDIT: After day 3, I'm quite surprised we almost got Level 2.

nothing in the client even indicates it's happening I only found out yesterday via reddit that is was happening

they really need to put clarity on events like this

The problem with this event is it takes a 5-man premade. They should have scaled if for all party sizes from 2 to 5. Like 3 / 6 / 9 / 12 points depending on party size. It's just not always realistic to get a 5-man going, especially if everyone is trying to do it at the same time.

There are actually a lot of people that don't know about this, and I think Riot just expected everyone to know what was happening.

Unless more people find out, I really doubt we're getting the Mundo skin.

I think when the weekend hits there will be a huge boost.

I am pretty sure the numbers were set so as to be un-reachable without a lot of gifting going on, that way they do not lose much even giving away a free skin.

i honestly don't know how people could not know this was going on....it's the highlight on the main page, unless they don't look at the news on the launcher at all....

For those who feel that getting into a 5 man pre-made is too difficult, check out the following thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/39wbr7/so_the_team_up_pool_party_event_is_live_here_are/

There were times here and there where invites were slow last night. But when things were really rolling, I would get multiple invites as soon as I was out of a match. Protip: you can join multiple chat rooms.

Saianna6/17/2015, 10:52:02 PM3 votes

Just for clarity:

  1. Do all players from all servers contribute for this event?

  2. At level 3 we have something like this: Unlock a Mystery Champion when you connect to Facebook friend discovery What's that and how to actually use it?

Sigh.. I have to say this event looks so lame.. Yeah free skin is awesome, but then.. I'd prefer playing some game mode for 2-3 weeks than having it.

And that event looks disgustingly similar to some of Nexon events that make me wanna uninstall LoL.

I'm not sure if it is a result of the goals being to high, or the way to get points being way too ridiculous. Only 5 man premade teams can earn points, other than that, you spend RP. Frankly, I'm not going to bother looking on forums for another player to add to a 4 man premade.

what they really need are public chat rooms accessible from the client. kinda surprising they don't. I remember old blizzard games like Diablo and starcraft had dozens of public chat rooms (blizzard east 1--, looking for group, trade, etc.)

it would help people group up for this event much more easily

The weekend is where most of the points will get earned. Patience, my son.

Riot intends for the last 3~4 goals to be unreached.

Krigjer6/18/2015, 10:22:59 AM1 votes

Someone said that only the winning team contributes points, which feels like it'd slow it down even further.

It also occurred to me that most people probably aren't even aware of the event. I feel like that's a large factor to not hitting all the tiers; people just don't know about the event. I've already had to explain Pool Party to three friends.

im just curious, anyone else notice their win rates changing with the 5 man grps? ive been doing some arams with it and i have been having more losses than ever before.... weird match making as well, under lv 30 on one side, diamonds, master and unranked, whatever thrown all together... i dont blame an under 30 for not getting one kill and having a lot of deaths against a grp that was outside their abilities....

but it makes me question continuing to play the event when it becomes pubstomps if your a random 5 man premade going against a set grp who have played together before

SantanaTheSlick 6/18/2015, 1:54:29 PM1 votes

not everyone has a group of 5 to play with i would rather this event was based on rp sold then the event would make alot more since.

3 days and we barely passed the first hurdle. I'd be surprised if we made it to the free mystery champion.

Hard4Hamsters6/18/2015, 3:09:51 PM1 votes

Well. According to the wiki, over 27 Million people play league everyday. So if everyone just played 2 games with a team of 5, we would reach the level 5 goal in a day.

So if everyone would just go out of their way to try and play at least two 5-man games this week, they would be doing their part to work towards the goal.

I have to admit, I am a little disappointed in how few people are willing to work towards the Pool Party, but I think we can turn it around in the next few days if we all work to do our part. It only takes 1 person to get people together for a 5-man team. Talk to those you queue up with and ask them to team up with you for the next one (it doesn't have to be a ranked game). Even just playing an ARAM game with a team works towards the Pool Party. The average time for a game in ARAM is about 20 minutes, so it's great to spam a few games with your 5-man to add points towards the goal.

To anyone who reads this, I hope you will try and make a team to at least play 2 games with, more is better, but any game you can get in will be very appreciated. I know we can do this. Good luck out there. Peace.

I already gave out all the gifts I was planning on giving, so all I've got left to contribute are games whenever my friends are online. I doubt I'm the only one.

P0IS0N IVY6/18/2015, 5:52:51 PM1 votes

Like everyone mentioned, Riot didn't put enough emphasis into letting players know the event is actually happening.

Secondly every 5 man premade gets to go against another 5 man premade normally, so the amount of points we could potentially win is automatically cut in half since only one team in each game will win.

Plus giving away a mystery champ and Pool party Mundo means less money for Riot, so of course they are going to want use to spend tons of money on mystery gifts and whatnot before we get one free thing.

Guy Fox Teemo6/18/2015, 9:36:31 PM1 votes

The Goal isn't mean to be attainable, its a marketing strategy, to get profit, since you get more points for by buying mystery gifts for friends. Also an increase in traffic since more people will be playing, hence they make more money .

I just found out about this event
