Riot Games Are Screwing Over Their Veterans... again.

In preseason 2018 there will be a reward for League Of Legends Veterans for the upcoming unlimited level-cap. The highest reward is for those who have played atleast 2500 hours in league of legends.

I've played this game since late season 2 (not even the most hardcore player) and I've spent over 5400 hours in league. But right now riot is saying "FUCK YOU" right in my face when giving out the same reward for someone who has played solely 2500 hours. The highest rewards is for "veterans" but as it stands 2500 hours could be done in only 3 years if u play consistently. Lol came out 2009-ish. But the highest reward is given for those who started playing 2014-2015. What were you thinking?

I'm not a good writer so I hope someone else brings up this issue. Please.

Yep. Most of us who have been around for this long own every champion, but they are saying they can't retroactively give out levels because then players will have so much IP they won't need to buy champions. I've been playing for 7 years and this new leveling system is the single most toxic "screw you" to veterans ever. HotS and Smite also added infinite leveling, and guess what? They retroactively gave out XP. Their excuses have been absolutely abysmal as well, I've seen "We want all players to experience the rush of leveling together" as well as "You've been given out IP all these years, which is the ONLY thing the new level system gives out" All that I can say about the latter is that when you look at a level 2000 Overwatch player you don't say "Wow, that guy has a lot of Tracer skins" you say "Damn, this guy has played a ton of this game"

Do you really care? You weren't even getting higher levels in the old system anyway. Nobody seemed to care then.

Also, even if you change absolutely nothing about what you do already, you'll end up above everyone else in levels if you play that much. It really isn't a big deal.

2500 hours is a LONG time. I've been playing almost daily since season 2 as well, and I only have roughly 1800 hours.

Also math,

2500 hours = 150000 minutes.

Average game length is roughly 31 minutes, we will round to 30 to clean up the numbers.

150000 / 30 = 5000 games.

5000 / 3 (years playing) =1667 games per year.

1667 / 365 (days in a year) = ~5 games a day.

This means that you would have to play a bare minimum of FIVE, thirty minute games EVERY DAY for three years straight in order to hit the minimum to receive the reward.

5 games a day at 30 minutes long is 150 minutes which is just shy of 3 hours a day playing.

Look at the demographic of players, average player is 19/20. Between school, college, jobs, family, and being young, 3 hours EVERY DAY is a pretty high benchmark to hit. I'm willing to bet that out of the millions of people actively playing league, maybe, MAYBE 3% of players will get the 2500 hour mark.

So my question is, how far do you want the rewards to go? Because theres some dude in his mothers basement living off welfare and his dead fathers social security checks, eating hot pockets and flaming hot cheeto's. That dude would look at your 5400 hours and SCOFF (probably spit up a little bit) and say "WHAT ABOUT THE PEOPLE WITH 10,000 HOURS?! RIOT HATES VETERANS!"

Like seriously, be proud that you hit the 2500 mark, MOST PEOPLE will not be able to get even close to that. and you'll be able to show off the reward for 2500 hours, which is honestly quite the feat.

Everyone is so quick to complain about Riots rewards when they honestly dont HAVE to give us anything for playing their game more than a normal person should.
