Why am I playing against Diamonds/platinum.

Hi. Im a player who recently started in the NA server. Well not recently. Mi account have several months since was created, but i haven't playing in here a lot. Anyway, I don't have the champs to rank so im playing normals instead. My question (not a problem, actually) is why do i get matched against Diamonds and Platinum players? Im not saying this only for the frame, but because they're diamonds in this season. I am unranked and i play against them. I have some theories but im not sure.

1.- I put when i started the account that im expert (im diamond in my other server). I think this one is the most possible, but i think its a little too much to be matched against diamonds.

2.- There isn't that much players and it can't be helped. I don't think is because of this, since the game is quite big and i dont play in strange hours like 3am or such.

3.- Because the game is like that. I mean that the matching program pairs the players no matter their level, since are normals games.

4.- The game knows that i'm diamond so wants to make me play when similar players... yeah, i'm not sure about that, fam.

I repeat, this is not a problem since im cappable of play well against them. But even when i was 25 i was paired against them... i think that's a little excesive. I didnt even have the runes, when there was runes. I only want to know why is that.

If it's norms yeah it's not gonna be as uniformed as ranked.

A few reasons instantly come to mind. -Your normals MMR is high. You're a good enough player. -Those diamonds are playing/boosting their friends. If you pair with someone with a lower MMR than you, you will play at a lower MMR level. -Those diamonds have low normals MMR because they just simply never play normals.

The first one is weird because i remember that in my very first normals (im talking in lv 10 and such, not joking). I don't think the game has that much data to know that i'm a good player or not. I tried normals in the draft mode (with the blocks and stuff). That's where i was paired with diamonds.

That's where reason #2 comes into play. If a high diamond teams with a few level 10s, they'll be placed against lvl 10s.

Marshbouy said it already, but basically it comes down to the fact that Normals and Ranked MMR are calculated separately. If you play a lot of one queue and not much of the other then your MMR score in the one you play less of will become much less accurate.

I'm diamond and i get matched against silver/gold all the time in normals cause i never play normals lol
