Here's why Riot should consider adding Solo Queue rank to Forum posts and comments.

Before you make a post about balance...

I will be completely honest here. I am slightly disturbed by the amount of unfiltered posts about balance that are flooding the boards. Members of Riot have pinned a post about commenting on balance, to the Gameplay boards, for almost an entire year.

Despite the fact, there almost isn't ever a time when someone isn't frustratingly commenting about champions or items, even though Riot has even made a second post (http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/developer-corner/biEUNpGI-patch-chat-with-playtest-patch-64) making it clear that any criticism toward the games balance is best handled by the professionals, or the best-of-the-best, as they are the most reliable when giving "actionable, objective feedback to designers."

We have the statistic that claims that 98.5% of all players rank in Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum(http://www.leagueofgraphs.com/rankings/rank-distribution), with the next 3 tiers of players only making up a miniscule 1.5% of the League of Legends community.

Riot games has delegated the responsibility of debating balance to the "most deserving" of players. For this reason, I believe that when posting on the Gameplay forums, your summoner name and icon should also include a small icon that states your current ranked status.

I'm pretty sure that I know where most of you think I'm going with this, but that is not what I am proposing. This game is supposed to be balanced in top-tier play, but it is also true that almost the entire demographic of players reside in a lower elo, at which there are claims made about the viability of certain "LCS plays", champion bans, champion picks, or item paths. If lower ranking players are being placed in an environment where "low-skill" champions are not viable, it will require them to pick up more difficult champions with varying outcomes, which can also cause a tremendous imbalance of the game once again.

I would just like to clarify that I am not trying to put people on the spot. I am not trying to call out bronze players. What I am saying is that people are seeing the game from different perspectives, and the best way that I feel Riot can handle this situation is to include the solo queue ranking(including Unranked) of League of Legends players, on their board posts and comments, to make it clear which perspective they are trying to convey.

I want to point out, that because 98.5% of the community is in "Less than Diamond" ranking, I will understandably receive negative feedback. I am not trying to stop you from making a comment on the forums. I am not advocating a bronze-only section, or a gold+ section. What I am saying, is that when you make an opinion-based statement, your opinion should have your ranked ladder icon next to your name, so people can understand what point-of-view you are trying to express.

Thank you for reading my post. I appreciate any feedback you have, and I am also very open-minded, so if you have a suggestion, I would most definitely consider your ideas.

This is pointless since dinamic have nothing to do with skill

As I said, I didn't expect for this post to avoid negativity, but downvote without comments? Cmon people, you can do better than that. You're basically just saying that you agree, but don't like it.

I was pretty sure a rank icon on the boards was a reward for gold+

Isn't anyone without one by default Silver and bronze technically, plus they'd have to update them all individually as people rise and fall in rank.

Would be nice if the match history showed current rank though.

If feedback is really restricted to high tier players than I think that this is really just a filter for the large number of comments on game balance. It makes sense to listen more closely to players that have been playing the game longer and higher tier players have to put in at least a certain amount of time to climb to their rank.

Personally, I don't have a problem if my rank were to be openly displayed on my boards profile, but I'm also not at all clear what purpose it would ultimately serve on the forums as I'm pretty sure RIOT knows my rank already. I guess other players could see my rank and just ignore everything I write? hmmm.

so your saying that a bronze player dont rate to comment on the shitty balance of this game( evn if said person has a degree in game design). Fact of the matter is games should always be balanced around the majority of the player base period no fuckin exceptions.

My issue with this is that while you state that you have nothing against bronze and silver players and whatnot, you are definitely in the minority on that. The amount of times my opinion has been discounted with the sole reason being because I'm bronze is just ridiculous. Yes I am bronze...but that doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about.

There are, in my opinion, two major factors that determine how good you are at this game; knowledge and mechanics. Someone can have the best mechanics in the world but zero game knowledge and be bronze. Conversely, you can have incredible game knowledge but lack the mechanical skill and be bronze. I fall into the later category. I am just not as good at this game from a mechanical level. However, I understand it well and can analyze games and matchups and the like. I'm still bronze, but I would contend that I have opinions worthy on consideration regardless.
