I really dont like it. Forced to pick a role before i get to talk to teammates. Forced to ban. I have had a record for trolled matches today. No one is building a team. Just picking their favorite champs regardless. When you start telling and stop asking there is very little chance for teamwork. This is a sad day for league imo. I WANT MY LOL BACK!

well, there is still a chat in the thing. if you pick a bruiser and get counterpicked, nothing prevents you from swapping lanes and take the champion you picked against that assassin on mid for example.
SeekerofSilence2 votesPeople usually have a champion or two they prefer to play. They usually have a lane they enjoy playing more. Riot wishes to enhance this by giving users the ability to pick two of their favorite roles beforehand, and being guaranteed either of them. This way people won't rage or troll because they missed out on their favorite role.
People will choose what they're good at regardless of the team anyway. Only place I've seen otherwise is low silver where counter-picking is a thing even if they don't know how to play the counter.
Obviously I haven't tried the new champ select (EU nerd), but I'm definitely looking forwards to it! I can see a lot of potential for a calm, peaceful champ select (finally).
