Changes to Relic Shield

I understand why the healing from Relic shield was nerfed- so that ADCs can't use it, or rather, so it gives them less of an advantage. However, what I'm now concerned about is how this affects Thresh support. Thresh is a ranged champion- and now because of that, he only gets half healing from Relic Shield. Likewise, that's about the only good starting item for him. So... what are Thresh mains supposed to do now?

Hmm I dunno about that. I've always used item 3301 on him and done just fine.

Probably has to bear with it too. I mean he already has some sort of safeness against melee support matchups with his 450 range.

People have requested to just change Thresh to melee, but Riot stated this would just complicate more things.
