Talon's Pasive

I like to believe that every champion has unique champion passives, and no champion passive is superior to another under all circumstances, but when comparing Talon's passive to Corki's it seems like Talon's passive is inferior to Corki under all circumstances. Both passives increase basic attacks by 10%. Talon requires the enemy to be CCed and his attack bonus is physical, while Corki has no required conditions and his damage bonus is true damage

I don't expect a change from the developers, I just feel this seems a bit unfair to Talon. If the passive was 12% for example then that would make sense

  1. Are there any situations where Talon's passive is superior to Corki's?

  2. If Talon's passive damage was boosted to 12% would it make him OP?

The only way Talon's could be superior is if you managed to make them have negative armor while slowed. You would then get more than 10% damage. It's very unlikely, but possible.

You do have to realize though that Talon is balanced around his passive being fairly... bad. The rest of his kit is pretty solid and makes up for it. Buffing it just to bring it in line with Corki's passive is silly. Corki is balanced around having that 10% true damage.

you left something out: Cork: This bonus damage is not affected by critical hits... Talon: Critical strikes interact with Mercy's bonus damage. item 3142

OK thanks for the response I like the critical strike answer

  1. You're comparing a Marksman to an Assassin. Corki's passive is geared to deal consistent DPS; it always amplifies his basic attacks by a set rate. Talon's passive is meant to increase his burst; during his rotation, he might land two or three basic attacks, and he has a slow to amplify that damage. The point where Talon's passive is superior to Corki's is during his burst rotation. Talon jumps with E, throws W, attacks once, uses Q, then presses R. The amount of time it takes to pull off that rotation is generally 1.5 seconds for a good Talon player; Corki can't land more than 2 basic attacks in that same time frame with less than 2.0 AS, which requires him to build at least +281% AS in items, runes and/or masteries. Corki's passive also doesn't benefit from Sheen or Crit.

However, again, this is because their passives function for different windows of opportunity. Corki's is supposed to be a consistent damage boost, while Talon's is a bonus for killing priority targets at the right opportunity.

  1. I don't think anyone would notice that small an increase in damage. It might be a better idea to make Talon's passive work with his Noxian Diplomacy. That is, while they're affected by the bleed, he benefits from his passive on that target.

A more accurate comparison would be Talon passive vs Riven passive. Both of them are bursty, melee champs, but I would definitely say Riven passive is better, and at level 18 it actually becomes 5x as powerful. So yeah, I think talon's passive kinda sucks. But I feel like this is pretty old news, everyone's known his passive sucks for a while now.

Give Talon Ashe's passive....and to Ashe Talon 's passive

With charges to get critical strike (or even something else like bonus Armor penetration) talon can have a more powerful frist attack and a better combo

With 10% bonus damage vs slowed enemies Ashe can activate frost shot and having more damage (after the first shot or after using ultimate)

They would fit much better with their kits

Also talons passive stacks with all the other amplification he has in masteries and his E while true damage can never be increased
