Remember "SR becoming URF" meme? Well it's kinda true now
I watch Froggen stream. I remember a few weeks ago (iirc it was patch 8.11 or earlier, before the new botllane) during the stream he talked about how short the game is. He browsed through his match history and found that most of his games ended around 20 minutes, usually with teammates asking "open?" before 10.
Then ARURF is enabled on PBE. I've been playing it for a while. There are some interesting similarities between URF and SR:
-
Games in both modes end around 20 - 25 minutes. Maybe ARURF is around 20, SR around 25. At least from my experience.
-
You can tell team chance of winning at champion select. Everyone knows what the meta champions are in both modes respectively.
-
The losing team can't wait for ff at 15 soon enough. Preferably ff at 10 or the ARAM ff at 8 vote option. Because no one enjoy getting killed over and over again. At least in ARURF you can farm faster and safer with more skill spam.

Tower and baron melt faster than butter in summer. Understandably it's fast in ARURF. But in SR it's in no way slow. Baron. 2-men isn't hard depends on champions. In ARURF a lot of champions can solo baron. But it's insane to see that you can 2 men in SR considering the difference between rate of skill spam.

In ARURF the usual lane assignment is 2-1-2 no jungler. In SR after the recent jungle change, level 2 gank is very popular. So often you run into situation where both junglers come to top, and the lane turns into 2-2, just like in ARURF. Although I barely see 5 men party at bot in ARURF.
