What should I learn to play?
I'm normally a support player, but I think I would round out and get better if I learned to play the game in a different role. What role do you think would help me learn the most?

To improve at your main role. Adc jungle mid.
I used to be a support main as well. Jungle is surprisingly similar to a support role and if you play
it basically is just being a 2nd support to your team.
If you play a lot of poke champions, there's a lot of overlap with midlane mages.
being especially strong in the midlane.
I don't think you really need to play adc in order to "understand ADCs so you can support them better". You get a good enough feel for what an ADC can do by supporting them.
I used to play a lot of support, I moved on to jungle for a time, playing Ivern
and a bit of Nunu
, but another role you may want to learn is ADC so you can get better synergy with ADC players, understand how the role works, etc. If you do go for ADC, Miss Fortune
is a good pick, so is someone like Ashe
or Sivir
.
Top lane is a very counterpick role, if you play Riven
, prepare to get a poppy
pulled on you, if you pick irelia
, prepare to get fucked by a renekton
or darius
, etc etc.
Mid lane is a very roam focused role/damage focused, help your other lanes while also getting fed, or bully the enemy laner.
Jungle is a secondary support in a way, help the laners, and have then help you.
ADC is all about damage, out damage the enemy ADC, burst down tanks, kite the melees.
Support is all about, well supporting, protect your team from damage with people like Soraka
or Janna
, or do a bit of damage on your own with "supports" like Lux
Morgana
or Brand
, or you can be a tanky front liner like Taric
Braum
or Alistar
Just choose whatever role sounds like your play style and have fun with it!
edit: Fixed a few champion names, and added a few champion pictures
I would probably have to suggest mid. It's a hard lane not gonna lie, but a lot of support champions also can be played mid just fine (i.e.
) so it may be easier to adjust to than other lanes.
So there's some good thoughts out there. I was leaning away from adc because it's only a slightly different view of the game than I'm use to.
So it maybe I should've framed it as what I would learn playing different roles. This is kind of what I see:
Jungle - jungle pathing, creep timings, objectives, and gank vision Mid - some wave control, roaming Top - wave control, playing into less than ideal matchups, completely different champion pools
What am I missing?
Mid 100% similar champions some supports can even get away with going mid since its a short lane like
