I Really Want to See Azir Fixed

I am a new league player who recently joined the community, and so naturally the first thing I did after getting used to league (I have played other MOBAS) was check out all the different heroes. I'm not generally the type of person to dig deep into a character and main them, I like switching around and counter picking. However, when I first saw Azir, his abilities, and his lore, I fell in love with the character. I didn't realize at the time the spot Azir was in, and so I blindly bought him and began playing him. He felt good to me, and I even managed to pull out an S the other day, but everyone knows there are issues. I realized there were some bugs early on, and that will never deter me, but I would like to see things fixed. As I began to realize the bugs, I also realized that Azir is one of the worst heroes in the game. My opinion is that he is a great hero, just a hard one, but the general response from people just for picking him makes it difficult to feel good about the pick. I know that I can play Azir and do well, but he has this awful stigma to him. I decided to start this article after hearing about the upcoming nerf to his E. It really upset me to see that instead of fixing a bug, the choice made is to just remove the feature entirely. Even worse than that is nerfing a hero that is already nerfed into the ground. I understand the problem with Azir, and the difficulties of trying to balance him. Hes such a top tier hero that any buff makes him OP for high levels of play, so he has to stay nerfed. The whole point of this article is to show what Azir means to me, and that I really want him to be in a place where he is a respected pick but also not OP beyond belief. I know riot understands all this, but they are also very busy, so if anyone wants to see Azir get a little bit of spotlight again, maybe this can be a place to brainstorm and give riot some ideas to go off of. Obviously fixing the bugs would be first, but then maybe something like empowering his basic attack with the sands only to towers and inhibitors (to replace the loss of Arise dealing tower damage). Even if that idea doesn't work, maybe just throwing them out there can help. Thanks to all who made it through this, and together lets Make Shurima Great Again!

Man remember the days when Azir has a 5 second wall a knock up and his q did tons of damage and he got attack speed for building CDR thouse were the glory days of Azir

You aren't even level 30. Azir has such a high skill floor that it takes hundreds of games to be able to learn even the basics on him. He's at a fine spot right now. He just is really difficult to play.

I understand the skill cap and how that balances him. I know I'm lower level, but I spent hours playing customs working on his skills the the magical journey and airsec, so I know his power. In pros it would be crazy to play Azir, and in most games just picking him can tilt your team. I think he needs just a little, like bug fixes and maybe a small buff, but just something to give him the respect he deserves.

You aren't even level 30 yet. I'm talking about his skill floor. He has a high skill floor, that means you need hundreds of games against real people to learn even his basics

I don't really agree with that. I'd say I have a lot of combos down. I understand his mechanics and all that. There is always room for improvement, and I know I'm no where near the best Azir player, but lets assume that you do need hundreds of games just for the basics. That's not good, and it makes the hero highly unplayable for a lot of people. It means that you need to be a pro in order to dream of being good. And that is problematic because in the actually pro and high level games its hard to compare to people of the same skill levels on other heroes.

Azir isn't that good right now. A player who masters him could surely find success, like any champion, but there are many other champions that can carry harder, have a lower skill floor, and just perform better in every scenario.

With his problems though, a rework is probably the only real solution.

no that's not the case, people need to cut the shit and realize that Azir is THE weakest champion in league of legends right now, he's always been high skill floor but unlike other champs with a high skill floor like riven and zed, you aren't rewarded for playing Azir, his damage is awful for a mage, he gets blown up in less than a second, and it's not about mastering the champion because you rarely even see the pros play him on stream let alone in competitive. Faker used to be an Azir main but he's played 2 games with him in the past 5 months, does faker not have the skill for azir?

His skill ap isn't the problem it's that he has too many weaknesses and no strengths

yeah i've spent 2.5k rp on azir and his skins only for him to be gutted
