ARAMs - poor coding, toxic players. It's time for an overhaul
Why is it that every single game there is at least one person on either team that plays something like attack speed Sona? I think it's time for Riot to do some type of balancing and more strictly enforcing rules. The trolls are getting out of hand. I know it's not just this game mode, but at least you can occasionally get games in SR that aren't plagued by toxic players.
I propose the following:
- Even team compositions - Adjust the algorithm for randomization so that if one team gets a healer, the other team also gets a healer. If one team gets 2 ADCs, the other team gets 2 ADCs. Tank for tank, etc. This would ensure that you no longer get 5 bruisers vs 4 insane pokes + tank, or other horrible matchups. The current system not only creates games with team compositions that are simply anti-fun, it promotes trolling because what is the point in playing when you literally have zero chance to win? Any type of balance would be better than the current system.
- Itemization - Some items are just completely useless in the Howling Abyss (I'm looking at you, Orb of Winter). Other items are insanely overpowered on other champions (Tahm Kench + Warmogs). Some of these things need to be removed or modified.
- Leaver buster - Is this even a thing anymore? It seems that the only games that you don't have trolls, you have a leaver. We need some restrictions on ARAM when people get reported X amount of times, something like requiring them to play 15-20 normal Summoner's Rift matches.
- Ranked - It would be amazing if there was an option to have a ranked Howling Abyss. There is no reason this shouldn't exist. If anything, it shows more skill than Summoner's Rift from a mechanical standpoint. Single, Duo, or 5 man queue only would still apply.
These are just a few things that could make ARAMs more relevant. As a strictly ARAM player I am sick of everyone thinking it's just some casual mode to goof off in. No single game type is any more or less serious than any other game type. Summoner's Rift, Twisted Treeline, and Dominion are all centered around PVE objectives. While Howling Abyss still maintains the tower/nexus aspect of the game, there are no jungle camps, there are no baron/dragon/spiders to worry about. It's strictly PVP, which is what this game is all about. "But it's random u noob go play ranked if you want to be serious" -- what if I told you that ARAMs have more 5v5 fights than any other game mode per time spent? Seems like that's a bit more serious than ranked. Even more so when you watch worlds and the vast majority of what the analyst desk talks about are team compositions and team fights.
