You are alive

The recently added smart pings have, overall, been one of the most useful and well-received additions to the gameplay UI. Being able to ping out timers for ability cooldowns, gold needed, and even your net ping are all great.

But there's one new ping i don't like and I wish Riot would remove. If you alt click on a portrait of your teammate, it tells everyone they are alive.

Does anyone actually use that? Is it ever useful to tell your team, hey, our team mate is alive? I get being able to ping when they're dead (and give the death timer), and maybe pinging that enemies are alive might be useful. But who needs to be reminded about teammates who are alive?

The reason this bugs me so much is that it removed a functionality that was much more useful. It used to be that when you alt clicked a champ portrait, it put a big alert ping right on top of that champ's current location. This was a great way to get your teammate's attention. Especially in lower Elo when people aren't paying attention to the minimal or chat, everyone notices a ping marker when it's right on top of you. It was so much easier than trying to ping them on the minimap. You didn't have to take the time to find them on the map, and it was always perfectly accurate (dropping it right on top of them)

Can we get rid of the "you are alive" smart ping and make it so alt-clicking a teammate's portrait does a regular ping on them again?

It's more useful when saying an enemy is alive. Wouldn't say the ally one needs to be removed though.

It's more useful for using the enemy "alive". That way I can ping river and then the champion so they know who is roaming.

I would like to be able to ping mana bars on people I select. I think this would be very useful overall
