Why is Aatrox being ignored?
Fair disclaimer, I'm a dirty Aatrox main, so I'm obviously biased about a few things. This is also my first boards post, so I don't expect much, but this is the only place where Riot support said I had a modicum of a chance to get a dev's attention. I also think the rework is much better than whatever the original Aatrox was, who was neither very fun nor fair. SO, with all that out of the way: `
**
needs some help ASAP.

I understand that he used to be an EXTREMELY contentious pick in Pro Play, and was downright obscene before his mini-rework. He seems to still be getting picked in proplay, which, sure, fine, I don't follow pro games much and am not the best informed about that side of the game. But even I know Aatrox is not nearly the priority he used to be, and even holds a negative winrate in all types of play, including Pro situations. At this point, a kit overhaul as was the case for
recently would be welcome by everyone, including the balance team, and it's long overdue.
Alternatively, minor buffs like added armor pen on certain skills, augmented base/bonus stats, or even just some major bugfixes (passive cancel issues, Q crits occasionally doing no damage when hitting multiple champions, passive healing not triggering when champs are shielded, conqueror stacks not proccing in certain circumstances, etc.) would not be major balance problems waiting to happen. And even if they were, compensations like further weakening his waveclear, lowering his movement speed by 5 (epic meme), or buffing some of his more difficult matchups could fix matters considerably. At this rate, I'd be shocked if something as drastic as returning his guaranteed revive or having his Q sweetspots deal percentage max health true damage à la
would even break him that much (though let's face it, it probably would).
So yeah, my question is, when is Aatrox getting fixed, or, why is he being ignored/considered "acceptable" by the live design and balance teams? If it's because they're working on something for him, why haven't we been given any updates about? If it's because he's still a major pro pick to the point it's an issue, why isn't he getting yet another change to remove him from that space entirely, even if it means hurting his soloqueue presence some more? And if it's because he's considered to be currently balanced...what's the reasoning behind that?
Whether you're a rioter, a player with some insight, or a fellow big sword boi lover, I'd love to hear your thoughts, and it least have some sort of idea when Aatrox will get some love, or why he won't be getting any for a while.
Thanks for reading, liking, and/or leaving a mean comment on this overly long rant, where applicable.
(TLDR = I'd like to know what Riot's plans for Aatrox are in the very near future, and if they have none, why not)
