Plat to S4....soft reset my ass

SaintPao··2 votes·1,064 views

Worked my ass off last season. I main support (Thresh) so it is the hardest position to move up in. Went from silver to plat last season. Yay. I had made it. No more trolls (well very few). I had arrived at a place where League was fun. Then came the new season. Had some issues during placements. Internet went out on my 2nd match and I got an afk loss, etc. Got sent down to Silver. Now I'm S4, the lowest I've ever been since starting League. And there are trolls galore....every game I have an afk, or a feeder, etc. I just feel like it's not fair to work my ass off and play so many games last season, get rewarded by moving up to plat, to have it all taken away. What's my motive for doing it again if next year it just starts all over? Do NBA players have to go back to high school basketball every new season? Why does riot make it this way? Makes it so hard to move up ESPECIALLY IF YOU MAIN SUPPORT. Does anybody have any GOOD reason why this is fair?

Welcome to the club we call elo hell.

I was there for a long time. Clawed my way out. Now Riot threw me back in....That's my complaint.

You were p5 and now you are 42-67. It kinda makes sense that you are now in S4. When you hit a 50% winrate you will be closer to your rank or at least in games where your team mates were the same S6 rank.

42-67 now b/c of what I referred to up there. It's troll city. And as a support main, it's very hard to carry. How do I get back to 50% win rate with a troll in EVERY DAMN GAME. I mean, surely I couldn't climb to plat last season if I'm S5 material now.

Hello, my friend. Stay a while and listen.

Love the subtle reference there. Maybe Deckard can be my therapist.

Hahaha, yeah. On a good note, I'm pretty sure (though ive only climbed B5->S1) is that Bronze is probably the most fun you'll ever have in league, provided you don't care if you win.

Outright hilarious.

I played support only this season so far and made it to Gold 5 from Silver 4 in just 61 wins. That includes being demoted once and redoing Gold 5 promos. Shouldn't be too hard to get back to where you want to be.

Edit: Wait a minute... You went on a 17 game losing streak recently. Are you trolling us?

SaintPao1 votes

Maybe was a little tilted....got tired of trying to go support. Was trying to carry other roles. I've played bad so far. Had a rough start to season. And, once again, there are a ton of trolls. But my point is why was I dropped so far to begin with?

Pandemic Punch1 votes

Hahahahaha I see. You can pretty much anticipate dropping divisions in every season. There were some people who were Gold last season who dropped to Bronze after winning all 10 placement matches. Unfortunately it is kind of just part of the game.

SaintPao1 votes

That's the problem. I don't think it should be part of the game. Once you reach Plat, shouldn't you have a minimum starting point in at least Gold for the next season? Why go all the way back down and start all over?

Pandemic Punch1 votes

I don't have an answer because it is a good question.

It strips away a lot of the hard work for the people who climbed in the previous season and it also destroys the integrity of the lower ranks for the people who actually belong in Bronze and Silver.

This. This right here is my biggest complaint. It's like making Lebron go back to high school every October. (well I'm not the Lebron of LOL, but you see the exaggerated analogy.)

If you had a decent MMR before the placements and were actually doing well I don't see how you got placed so low unless you screwed up Promos royally.

I hit Diamond twice, fell out during the weeks I didn't play and hovered in plat 1 most of the season. I got intentional feeders on my team in 4 games, and 3 I had an afk, meaning I could only possibly win 3, I won 2 of those, but I still got placed Gold 2 with high mmr. That's about as soft a reset as you can get.

Magi Mayvin1 votes

My good reason for this being fair is clearing bad players from every division and getting them to where they rly deserve.

SaintPao1 votes

I got cleared and was doing well in Plat. Silver is harder to win in than plat. Trolls are in every game.

Magi Mayvin1 votes

You don't understand, there's a difference between permanent clears and people that deserve the division and can climb back :)

SaintPao1 votes

I can climb back....it will just take a hell lot of time and effort, which I don't have. I work and have a family. I worked my ass off to get there originally, why make us do it all over again, instead of focusing on where we were at. I'll be back to Plat eventually, but it just feels like a total waste getting back there.

Magi Mayvin1 votes

Well you might not have a lot of time with your work and family but you have to remember that it's just a game and you should just play it for fun.I agree with you to some extend that the rank reset shouldn't be so big and drop you max one league.I'd also like to have the same division every year but I'm pretty sure that riot won't do it so we just have to play the game as it is I guess.

If you actually deserved to be plat you can get there, though considering you have a 39% winrate with 42W 67L sounds more like you were Boosted. You had Silver 5 season 4 and Silver 2 season 5, suddenly to Plat 5 90Lp in season 6... yeah...

SaintPao1 votes

As mentioned earlier, I've had a rough start. Trying to play other champs to get myself out, since it's harder carrying as support, which turned out to not be a good idea. I'm much much better at support than I am at any other role. Yes, last season I moved from Silver to Plat as Thresh...so that automatically makes me boosted? Since you're such a genius, look at my account. Most of my games in ranked last season were with Thresh, who I still main now. That sure is one hell of a way to get boosted. Regardless, I could care less whether you acknowledge or know how hard I worked last season to get to Plat. My point of this thread was that I did achieve Plat, clawed out of elo hell, only to be placed back, where there is a 95% chance I will have a troll on my team. Takes the fun out of the game.

Why cant people say that some people are bad feeding isnt trolling unless its intentional loseing your lane isnt trolling and the meta is super snowbally and no one ever offers to share their lane with some one who is falling behind but realize that them being behind makes the game harder to win enough to complain about it

SaintPao1 votes

I never said feeding. I said trolling. And afk is trolling. Giving up at 15 min cause you're behind 4 kills is trolling. When I say trolling, I don't mean bad, I mean troll. They're everywhere.

i agree that you dont give up just because you fall behind but you cant just say feeder as that encompasses any one haveing a bad game or just getting beat in lane or any tank that they enemy dont just stand still and let confirm the kill on them. tanks are a role what go in do damage and get all the kills picked out of their hands by the other 3 carry roles.
