Why is Pantheon's shield stronger than Brawm's shield?

I feel that, logically, Brawm's shield should make HIM invulnerable in the front, while Pantheon's shield just reduce the damage. Please, enlighten me if I'm heavily mistaken. I think these two abilities should've been swapped.

Edit: If this topic has been compared/covered before, link the forum discussion. I just couldn't find it using keywords such as, "Brawm's shield", "Pantheon's shield", "Brawm vs Pantheon".

P.S. I'm reminded of how Blitz has to slow down because he "overheats" after boosting himself but old Nunu was able to perma boost himself.

Ugh, this has been gone over countless times.

Braum's shield will intercept projectiles, while Pantheon's shield only blocks things that hit him. If you go to autoattack the person behind Pantheon, his shield won't stop it. If you try to block a piercing projectile, Pantheon's shield will let it through.

Pantheon is slowed with his shield up. Braum gets faster with his shield up.

Braum's shield has a shorter cooldown, 4 seconds shorter at rank 1, down to 6 seconds shorter at rank 5. The mana cost is also lower.

Braum's shield lasts longer, even compared to Pantheon's empowered shield.

Braum is overall tankier and more mobile than Pantheon, so blowing his shield isn't a big deal. Pantheon's shield is his only defensive cooldown. He's made of cardboard without it.

In short, Braum's shield is much better at protecting his teammates from damage. His shield is selfless. Pantheon's shield is selfish. He only protects himself.

It's simple, they serve two different purposes, Pantheon's doesn't block projectiles, and Braum's does.

Pantheon's shield is a shield. Braum's shield is a door

Pantheon's rework came sooner than Braum's release therefore he gets the stronger ability.

just revert pantheon and everyone would be happy

Because panth had a damage blocking shield and they wanted to give him something functionally similar.

Because the people working over there cannot make a proper tank in their game.

It's the same for Tahm's passive and Pyke.

Disgusting.

I think like braums shield is a sort of mobile windwall, and panth is a one direction master y q, without the bouncing to targets, and instead of untargetable its just a pure dmg block (kind of like fioras riposte, but mobile, if you think about it) . Its actually just his old passive put onto an active ability, but instead of blocking one auto, its about a fizz e duration of blocking dmg from a single direction. He still can be ccd, like braum, only difference is he doesnt take the dmg, but is slowed if hes trying to run, and the actual dmg of the ability is garbage compared to old e, and is pushed into the shield bash at the end, and if you are actually using it defensively, chances are you wont get the bash in.
