The Current State of Mordekaiser.

On Champion.gg, Mordekaiser is currently the lowest performing champion in 2 of his 3 roles and the second lowest performing champion in his main role, Top lane. I really like playing Morde, I've been a Morde OTP for years now but I feel like I'm just wasting my time playing this champ. It takes so much effort to do well with Morde and his bugs are unbearable.

I'm not gonna make a long post about this cause I know its been done a thousand times but I just wanted to say it myself, Please fix this damn champion, just do something already ffs.

Mordekaiser was a very...safe prospect for Riot. They change things up when they feel the game is getting stale, and the juggernaut update was that regularly scheduled change. Mordekaiser was safe to change because his playerbase was so low that the backlash would have been tiny compared to, say, Lee Sin's playerbase? Proof of this is that a Lee Sin rework was posted on PBE and was so unilaterally opposed to by it's fanbase that it was removed and never tested again. Same shit happened with Morde but it still went through anyway.

I, along with many Morde mains on PBE at the time, blasted CertainlyT again and again, but not only did he not reply, he didn't even apologize after this, his most massive fuck up of all time

I like a lot of things about Morde, his thematic, his ult, the METAL, etc. it's sad to see him in such a bad spot.

numbers won't fix him without making him unhealthy. he can already one shot people with one item and his Q. he needs a mini rework at least. his W needs to go away.

Mordekaisers ranking is heavily influenced by his damage taken stats, which is artificially low because damage to shields doesn't count as damage to champions. His ranking is also heavily influenced by playrate, and his is extremely low. Do we really think Lux is the best mid laner in the game? Of course we don't, but her playrate spiked with the release of the ultimate skin and up she goes right to number 1 in the "performance" rankings.

The main issue from playing him is that he is simply out classed from everyone. There are so many more champs that can do what he can but so much more reliable.

He was my main with about 150k mastery on, switched to Tryndamere simply because he is so close to being unplayable in his current state.

They move all his power to his Q and yet give him no options to deliver any of it. Don't say the W counts, as its mostly ineffective and requires co-op to work.

No, he simply has no place in the game at this current time, as he can't be buffed or else he becomes obscenely broken so he joins Aatrox in the dog house.

Truth be told, I actually don't trust that the rework is going to represent originally Morde at all or anything resembling him. If you look at Sion now, he is a completely different champion than the original. Not going to say he is better or worse, just different. Same will happen to Morde, Its going to be a different champion that thematically fits, with Morde's name slapped on it.

While this might seem a little dark, I just think this is whats going to happen, I would like more than anything for him to be back, but I don't dare hope, else I will just be disappointed in the end.
