I have a question about how matchmaking works. So I play solo and i get placed with golds while for some reason im in bronze and when we lose i go further into bronze. I play with my friend we vs bronze players and everyones literally a bot on the other team. Is this rng or my luck or rigged or wtf?
Your MMR is the equivalent of gold. Your friend's MMR is the equivalent of bronze/iron.

i always recall people fucking up their mmr by duoing with friends and the like. let's say you're gold you have plat friend you have silver friend
you duo with plat friend and you win, + maximum mmr you duo with silver friend and you lose, - maximum mmr you duo with plat friend and you lose, - minimal mmr you duo with silver friend and you win, + minimal mmr
do this enough times with your rank going nowhere and your mmr will be more confused than a virgin paying a hooker in thailand for a fun night out only to discover...
