Why are we punished so heavily for dodging out of a toxic game before we even pick a champ?

I was just in my promos yesterday and only needed to win **one more **game to be promoted. I got into champ select and immediately my team mates were arguing and just complete vulgar idiots to one another. I dodged before the second champ was even selected because as much as I love and appreciate the mute button in game, it cant force people to work together or not afk 5mins in. I was taken out of my promos for it.

I dodged probably a total of 3 games last year. I don't think its fair to punish us so heavily for dodging queues. Sure if someone dodges queues everyday? go ahead punish them but we shouldn't all be punished so heavily for not wanting to be in such a toxic hell of a game.

My ban time for dodging was a mere 45 seconds. I shouldn't have lost my promos for that. I even won the next game I got into (which would have gotten me promoted). Sure ill get back into my promos by the end of the day, but it just seemed a bit drastic.

In conclusion.. WHY ARE WE PUNISHED SO HEAVILY??

Honestly I feel like dodging shouldn't give you a lost in promos.

You already lose LP from losing a promo game, they should just slap the -3 or -10 onto your existing LP instead of giving you a straight loss which is ridiculous if dodge penalties are only -3 LP not -16 or -20

Like -3 and then following -10 for 2nd dodge of day is a nice slap on the wrist in exchange for playing a game that might've been bad is great.

But being forced to dodge in your promos and taking an L is seriously stupid.

because auto fill makes people dodge more so they have to raise dodge penalties to enforce auto fill.
