@Riot: Requesting Transparency about AR-URF

So, I think we all got a pretty good feel on the community-side about 'generalized AR-URF feelings'. Top three comments seemed to be summarized as follows:

-ARAM accounts create common imbalances. -All champions should be unlocked. -It became stale faster than regular URF.

However I haven't seen a single Rioter post regarding this. Usually when a mode gets such powerful feedback you've posted things about it before. Such as Hexakill's plans for more normalized gold/XP and 3rd tower removal, Ascension's removal of central bushes and sniping mechanics, ect.

Riot, please talk to us again. What are your opinions, data, and plans regarding AR-URF now that you've had it on Live for a weekend?

I for one liked the experience of ARURF. Is it perfect? No. Is it better than previous URF? Kinda. I didn't find it to be boring, i believe thats what everyone says when complaining about the game mode, it's not true, the randomness makes it fun and it adds more fun into an already pretty fun mode. In my opinion its better than regular URF mode. Here's what i believe should change in ARURF, and it should come to no surprise when i say these:

  1. All Champions should be unlocked, it will make the experience fair for everyone, isn't that the point of all random?
  2. Ban phase. Even though this is all random urf there are some champions that constantly kept showing up at least for me that were hell to deal with, such asFiora MonkeyKing XinZhao Jax Shaco Leblanc for example.
  3. Make it so that we are able to surrender sooner. As much as I hate to admit it some games are lost earlier than 20:00 mins into the game, and never as this been as true as in ARURF.

How did arurf make the URF game stale? It was hella better than playing against the same 12 champions.

I think ARURF feedback is a case of the people that were upset being the loudest.

I predict that, if we get some statistics from Riot about ARURF, we will see: 1 - ARURF did not lose popularity as fast as URF (based on number of games over time charts) 2 - A similar number of people played ARURF over the course of the weekend compared to URF numbers 3 - Games were less one-sided than URF (based on average gold difference between the teams) 4 - There were more ARURF games played than URF games

I'm basing these guesses on the low queue times throughout the weekend, the random element allowing for "closer" games, and the general popularity of the URF mode, random or not.

Well, you see, if Riot addressed these comments, people would continue spamming downvotes on everyone who brings them up. They're pulling a Hillary and doing absolutely nothing, hoping we fuck up first.

Give them time, it's only been 3 days of the regular work week. Let them get through the metrics and surveys and team meetings. Heck, it wasn't even brought down until later on Monday.

I don't think it got stale. Actually, in the first day or two there were a lot of comments bitching about it, but after that most of the comments about ARURF were really positive. If anything it was the opposite of getting stale, seemed like the community was warming up to it more and more. All they really need to do is implement the much suggested BAN PHASE before the random champions are assigned. This should be implemented in ARAM too, btw.

The more I have played ARURF the more I have enjoyed it. You really have to change your thinking about a lot of champions and how to use them, not to mention about itemization. Some champs I was terrible with, but then I realized how to use them differently to succeed in this game mode and wrecked with them in another game.

ARURF didn't get stale at all. Regular URF got super stale because the matches had the same champions on both sides after about a day in, whereas ARURF always had a diverse selection.

If you think about it though, ARAM accounts very rarely contain Urgot Evelynn Hecarim due to their meh game-play in ARAM and they're some of the highest tier in URF. So ARAM accounts didn't cause that much problem, and I seriously doubt many people played against one. I would like to know the statistics of games played as compared to regular URF last time it was up.
