LAG (150+ ping)

Ever since the new log in screen, (the one that will never have an animation playing) in about half of my games I will get 150+ ping, max I've had has been 220. The other half of my games I will be at my normal ping of 40. I've checked and nothing is wrong with my internet or any other game besides league. I've messed around with my settings to try to lower my ping but nothing helps, idk if it's because of the new login screen somehow or if it's just a coincidence but if somebody has tips on how to lower my ping it'd help a lot.
