How do I Solo Bot Lane?

FriedSocks··1 votes·1,524 views

I find it extremely hard to Solo Bot lane as I get under leveled as hell and by the time I do gain help from a teammate I can die just from one punch of the enemy. I'm a new player and I don't know anything really.

Firstly, welcome to League^^

Now, lets break this down a bit:

I find it extremely hard to Solo Bot lane

Does it end up a 1 v 2 or? Basically I'm asking if it's not a 2 v 2 meta in the games being played. Bot lane is usually 2 v 2.

as I get under leveled as hell and by the time I do gain help from a teammate I can die just from one punch of the enemy.

If it is 1 v 2 then it's necessary to just chill within range of exp and get the cs (the minion kills give gold) safely from under your tower.

I don't know if the text for exp and gold is enabled on your end, but there should be an option to show it from the settings menu in the client for in-game stuff. That will make the safe but still getting exp spot easier to find and you'll hopefully stay more even on levels.

I'm a new player and I don't know anything really.

Ask away! I'll try to answer as best I can; hopefully others come help too~

"Does it end up a 1 v 2 " Always "Ask away! I'll try to answer as best I can; hopefully others come help too" Is Xin Zhao and Illaoi good champions? I enjoy playing them a lot. Also, what's the best way to get into LoL and be good at it?

Always

Yeah, in that case I'd skip out on bot lane^^" Sounds like it's really not fun.

Is Xin Zhao and Illaoi good champions? I enjoy playing them a lot.

Both of them are good champions, but Illaoi relies more on opponents walking into her tentacles (you've probably noticed this) whereas Xin can pretty well fight anywhere.

Also, what's the best way to get into LoL and be good at it?

Mostly by playing a lot, but there is also a lot to be learned by reading up on a champion before playing them. Many champs have specific things they need to do in order to get the most out of their damage.

If I was to go back in time and re-learn League, I'd have wanted someone to really stress:

  1. how important getting last hits really is (killing 14 minions is the same gold as a kill), and
  2. to show me how much damage minions do early in the game (most deaths of new players are probably mostly due to minion damage, the champion just gets the credit.

Pick a few champions to main and play the crap out of them while you focus on learning other things about the game. Experimenting and trying new champions is fun but if you want to get good at the game it is better not to distract yourself with trying to learn new abilities while also learning other aspects of the game.

Also youtube is a great resource, there are a lot of people who make guides on various topics related to how the game is played, and some of them explain really useful techniques and skills that newer players don't use so you will get a leg up over your fellow players. Some youtubers to consider watching:

  • Jeremy "Gaming Curios" (strategy guides mostly)
  • phylol (variety of content including strategy guides, top tier OP lists, and strategy analysis)
  • Randomonium (for learning about champion roles and how different classes work)
  • Midbeast (for mechanics and in-depth guides on certain champions that are played in mid)
  • SoloRenektonOnly (for laning and minion wave management guides, as well as top-lane gameplay videos featuring OP builds and useful strategy analyses sprinkled throughout)

that's the point, bot is a duo lane.

because there is a second person you have to be afraid of, your just naturally zoned from creeps. the most you can do is towerhug, but that's pretty much as good as its gonna get

Then this game is probably not worth playing if all i do is "towerhug"

Top and Mid are solo lanes. Perhaps they are more interesting.

but if your in a 2v1 in botlane, you don't have a support. you should expect this.

Generally you don't solo bot lane.
