I feel like there's so many options to destroy towers, but there's none to buff/protect towers

I mean as far as I can think, Janna shield is about the only thing that comes to mind that that can actually buff/protect a tower.

Riot's ultimate goal is to turn towers into banks and remove the tower shot placing instead one disgruntled minion as a security guard. Towers are for your opponents to get a snowball off of not for you to have protection with.

It would be great if we could get a female mechanic champion from Piltover, who is able to interact with towers in some way. Something like an anti-sieging-tank.

You know you want it. [sg-lulu]

Bard ult, but yeah very few options for directly buffing/shielding/ protecting a tower

This is kinda why I believe they should bring back fortify in preseason. Or another fun idea that was discussed a while ago, give item 3056 some comparable ability when used near an allied tower.

Because there shouldn't be. Towers are objectives, so adding alot of ways to protect them would make them like s7 anti-assassin items episode 2

I was thinking about this too. What has more armor, a Giant stone statue, or an ADC like Vayne? Vayne does. I checked the turret late game, it had 40 armor while the enemy vayne had like 48.

Also, you see where the towers have item slots? Maybe you can buy items for the inner, inhibitor, and nexus turrets.

An idea I had was that once a champion targeted you under your tower, the turret would become enraged and gain 35% attack speed and 20 AD and the upgrade would cost 500 gold.

Auto repairing turrets like 1 hp per 5 seconds more would cost 800 gold.

One thing I thought of too is that turrets have a sunfire cape aura around them to help clear super minions, and it does 250% more damage against minions than champions, starting at 40 dps burn. For nexus turrets only of course.

Armor and MR on turrets should be like 1.5 or 1.8x more expensive than on a champion.

You are forgetting the underlying reasons for all these changes.

Riot wants towers to be weak so games can be short. Riot likes short flashy games because of the esports crowd. People get tired of watching long drawn out farm fest games and want quick action.

Having played Dota for a while, they had a problem where pro level play was getting into stupid long games and everyone just afk farmed and split push and it was severely boring, everyone called it rat Dota. Dota has since changed from that and thr gamea are much ahorter but I agree with riot on why games should be shorter than longer

there is another example of making towers tougher

if enemy minions are near the tower, the tower takes more damage

i always try to clear the minions first during a seige

A lot of the things that take turrets are also able to be used to protect them. Take waveclear, for example. High wave clear lets you push faster, letting you take turrets sooner, right? Well, it also kills off the enemy wave, preventing them from taking your turret. Minion control is the best way to protect your turret.

And, let's be honest: There's not many abilities that do anything special to turrets. Sure, you have some that apply their bonus damage to turrets, but the only two things that do anything special offensively to turrets are Rift Herald and Ziggs's Satchel Charge.

I'm only okay with Riot giving players a way to defend towers if it's at a Summoner Spell level. Adding a champion specialising in tower defence makes the mechanic too inaccessible. On the other hand. putting it on an item makes is too accessible.

Riot could honestly rework Garrison for Summoner's Rift.

Riot should make it so you can buy a fortification for your tower that costs 500 gold so if you are a roaming assassin and you snowball and want to roam but your enemy laner keeps pushing creeps into your tower then it would be a good purchase but only if you are ahead.
