A Solution to AFKers in Ranked

Nothing feels worse than getting demoted because an AFKer ruins your match. It doesn't feel rewarding to win against, and it can make you feel pretty salty to lose because of a numbers advantage. From a numbers perspective (if you never AFK yourself) There are 5 chances for an AFK on the opposing team and 4 on your own.

I propose that if your team loses due to an AFK, LP and losses are still calculated but DEMOTIONS are forgiven. This would still let wins and losses due to AFKs balance out from a macro view, but not throw you down a rank just because of someone being irresponsible. This also limits the potential for abuse, because it still affects your MMR and LP, just not your ranked tier if you are on the verge of demotion already.

We have been saying this for years and continues to fall on deaf ears because something, something abuse cases.

I think the only thing different about my suggestion, is it applies only for demotions and all other factors for the loss are still calculated for, you will still get demoted if you lose the next game, but you are given a chance to win back out of a potential demotion due to an AFK. That really limits potential abuse

I think thats a good idea but I doubt that Riot will do something like this....

Well, I don't think it would be too hard to implement, and they have been talking about a solution since I started playing in 2009. I think this would be the easiest and most fair solution without implementing a ton of new code and tech.
