Shaco Rework Thoughts
For starters if your going to rework a champion the least you could do is update the champion page come on riot. I did not get to play shaco during pbe just after release I plan to play a few more games and I may update this but as of now this is my stance on the matter.
Assassin's in general good job riot in all honesty assassins needed a little bit more counter play I'm glad you went in this direction, How ever they are still assassins and you nerfed them a little bit to much.
UPDATEDPassive - Backstab Upon attacking a unit from behind, Shaco critically strikes them. Shaco can’t backstab the same unit for a short duration. COOLDOWN PER TARGET 3 seconds (affected by cooldown reduction) BACKSTAB CRIT DAMAGE 120-145% (at levels 1-18) BACKSTAB CRIT AGAINST MONSTERS 200%
The new passive in general is going to do less damage all around then the normal 20% more damage for several reasons Firstly only your auto does more damage now boxes clone dagger no longer have this bonus damage (they wanted to nerf his early damage they did, however 145% at lvl 18 is to low (I'm not entirely sure if IE Over rides the 145% and makes it do 250 or not but it does not feel like it bump to 155-165% at max instead of 145.
Q - Deceive COST 90/80/70/60/50 mana ⇒ 60 mana at all ranks COOLDOWN 14 seconds ⇒ 11 seconds CAST TIME Randomly between 0.05 seconds and 0.3 seconds ⇒ 0.125 seconds STEALTH DURATION 3.5 seconds ⇒ 1.5/2.25/3/3.75/4.5 seconds REMOVEDCRITICALLY DECEPTIVE No longer causes Shaco’s next basic attack to critically strike NEWBASE DAMAGE Now deals 20/35/50/65/80 (+0.5 ability power) bonus damage on Shaco’s next basic attack. This damage can critically strike. NEWFOOL ME ONCE Dealing damage with Deceive lowers its cooldown by 2.5 seconds NEWSNEAK KING Can now place W - Jack in the Box while stealthed. Placing a Jack in the Box briefly reveals Shaco’s position, but doesn’t make him targetable.
I hate you and thank you at the same time for shaco's new Q 60 mana at all ranks was a amazing buff the biggest problem with ad shaco was running out of mana after ganking once and clearing 1 or 2 camps without having blue I like the idea of scaling stealth to nerf his Q. Now removing shacos 100% crit after using his Q I can see this as okay not great because of how the new passive works
And now the empowered auto part to this NEWBASE DAMAGE Now deals 20/35/50/65/80 (+0.5 ability power) bonus damage on Shaco’s next basic attack. This damage can critically strike. Your making ap shaco viable because of this but your also breaking full ad shaco it scales only ap but deals physical hello? where is the ad scaling yes there is back stab but again hello?
W - Jack In The Box NEWBIGGER BOX Now gains 0-400 bonus health (from levels 1-18) ARM TIME Randomly between from 2.1 seconds to 2.3 seconds ⇒ 2 seconds BASICALLY WARD HEALTH Jack-in-the-Boxes now instantly die to turret shots, and lose a minimum of 1/3rd of their health from champion basic attacks DAMAGE VS TURRETS 100% ⇒ 50%
Scaling hp GREAT can cast while stealthed GREAT reduced damage on turrets less pushing power not so great 75% please not 50 your destroying full ad shaco's Boxes not stacking anymore im okay with this because they want to give them scaling hp and you can have up to 9 of them now at max cdr however this is bit bugging when trying to set up for your first jungle clear and your box ends up in the wall and doesn't go off
E - Two-Shiv Poison SLOW 10/15/20/25/30% ⇒ 20/22.5/25/27.5/30% DAMAGE 50/90/130/170/210 (+1.0 bonus attack damage) (+1.0 ability power) ⇒ 5/35/65/95/125 (+0.85 total attack damage) (+0.9 ability power) NEWMISSING HEALTH DAMAGE Now deals an additional 3-8% of the target’s missing health (at levels 1-11) REMOVEDDEBILITATING POISON No longer slows monster attack speed

So basically Shaco's E is now a execute that is completely garbage and in all honestly isn't even worth level at all anymore unless your full ap SO you now do 3-8% of the targets missing hp scales from 1-11 they wanted to nerf his early ganks but honestly your just kinda broke it all together level 1 dagger before around 110 damage +20 for old passive so around 125-140 damage now its like 60-70 damage even if you hit someone who's at 10% hp bump level 1 base damage to 25 not 5 get rid of targets missing health and make it do damage based on max health because you made Q the damage dealer well hey Q is also the escape and if you Q in and don't kill them which let me tell you 6 times out of 10 your not going to now
R - Hallucinate INVULNERABILITY Randomly between 0.25 seconds to 0.5 seconds ⇒ 0.5 seconds DAMAGE TO TURRETS 50% ⇒ 35% NEWNO FOOLING TURRETS Shaco’s clone now takes double damage from turrets NEWCLEARING CHARADE Shaco’s clone can now attack wards NEWIT’S MULTIPLE TRAPS Now creates a nest of Jack-in-the-Boxes upon death. These boxes activate together, and receive damage together. NEST DURATION 6 seconds NEST FEAR DURATION 0.75 seconds NEST DAMAGE 25/50/75 (+0.15 ability power) per attack NEST HEALTH Gains 210-950 bonus health (from levels 6-18)
They did alot of ai improvements to clone now when your dead the clone will act like timbers instead of just following someone like a jackass he actually attacks them now can clear wards great double damage from turrets reduced pushing power im okay with it but maybe not double maybe 25% more boxes dropped on death gives more mechanics to shaco and more use for the clone i like it but i feel the boxes need to last just a little bit longer or be farther spread apart so 1 aoe ability doesnt kill them all instantly bump the hp at lvl 1 a bit more
So overall as a shaco main I can confindently say I'm no longer going to be maining shaco if he stays in this state I had a open mind but essentially I don't really like ap shaco might play ap or got a tiny hybrid once in awhile but AD JG is the way to go and it doesnt feel viable at all the turned the clone into a joke I played a game the other night 428 ad duskblade IE Hydra warrior and hourglass goes in Q box ontop quinn backstab quinn whos only defense item is deadmanplate I did around 250 damage to him with that attack after box fears him even with clone out attacking him quinn lives with over 75% hp both people full build both lvl 18 1 a marksmen 1 a assassin assassin does 1/4 the damage as marksmen (it wasnt a terrible game yes i known quinn burst like a bitch im not just crying and bitching i like they added counterplay to assassins but they are still assassins they should still be able to kill you easy it could be ap shaco is how you have to play it idk i just dont play him that way E doesnt do enough damage and you have to 100% use your escape to do damage yea you had to do this before as well with shaco but when you did ityou would do enough damage to either kill someone or make them run away in fear now they just turn around and 100 to 0 you after you come out of invis hello im the assassin not you just buff up his damage a little bit not a shit ton and fix his e i seriously feel no need in using it other then to proc thunderlords now
