What is wrong with Ranked? Very dissapointed in placement.

I'm wondering how the ranked system works... I just finished my 10 placement games and got completely robbed. I went 7/3 in my ten games. I had a couple bad games, one having an AFK, but I really dont understand why Bronze 4. I think its a load of sheets. Last year I did way worse. I was 2/8 and got placed in Bronze 1. I have no idea how that works. They show no love for the supports? Do I have to be a bad support and steal kills just to get a better rank? Please let me know!! I'm very irritated at this. Here are the histories of my 10 placement games. Game 10 Game 9 Game 8 Game 7 Game 6 Game 5 Game 4 Game 3 Game 2 Game 1

This should help you understand what's going on.

You played in matches with about a bronze 3 MMR, and you went 7-3, which means you're probably a bronze 1 or 2 player. It turns out that this season's placement matches are designed to systematically underrate players by 2 or 3 divisions. Thus, things are working as intended.

If you play normally, you'll be back in bronze 1 pretty quickly.

It depends on the level of the people you were playing against in the games. Not just whether you win em or not.

Yea, I'm confused AF as well. I did HORRIBLY in my placements this season (teemo jg deciding to sit in bot lane tri-bush the entire game, afk's...it wasn't a fun time). I ended up going 3/7 and still got put in Bronze 1.

Last season your placement was straight up determined by how you did in your matches. This season, your previous MMR was taken into account. If you were placed in B4 this time, can I guess you were around B2 or 1? Everybody lost MMR in the soft reset, so unless your MMR was considerably higher than your division average, you will not likely be able to maintain the same rank even if you go 10/10.

Also like another said, it depends on which matches you won. If you won against the higher MMR ppl in placements, it's better for you. If you lost against lower, it hurts you more (this is also what happens when calculating how much LP you get or lose).

Yes I was bronze I. Thanks for the feedback, guess I need to lay off on all the ARAM and work on my normals.
