Any Good Tank Builds for Malphite?

malphite is an anti AD armor scaling tank. two his raw abilities damage scale with how much armor you have and one amplifies your armor by a % similar to rabadon's deathcap with AP. For malphite you typically pick him into AD champions so most and I repeat, most people go either or one offers slow waveclear and damage, health. the other offers a ton of CDR, and an attack speed slow. If you are against someone who isn't auto attack based you can go sunfire probably, if you aren't you can go frozen heart.

after that it is pretty much mostly armor. unless they have a ton off long lasting CC you have to worry about. if you need an MR item, or are good.

Beyond that lliterally any armor item is good on him. with higher armor items being the most efficient. so . You need to build some MR so you don't explode if they have a good mage or burst assassin, but dont stack this as you probably picked malphite to shit on the AD on their team.

In competitive I always see them go FH or SC into the other and then thornmail before building an MR item, even if enemy has a magic damage threat. Malphite's damage scales with armor so you want to get armor for sure.

Max the E first as it is your wave clear and attack speed slow.

This gives you a total of 240 bonus armor (before considering your W), 120 bonus magic resist, 1000 bonus health, 500 mana, 30% CDR, and a fair bit of damage to boot.

You get Sunfire aura and Thornmail's damage return, on top of Abyssal's MR shred which makes you surprisingly damaging throughout the game. Iceborn's Sheen proc boosts your wave clear even more than normal (especially since your huge amounts of armor increase the AoE radius). The little bit of AP abyssal offers also helps keep your Q, W, E, and R damage relevant for slightly longer as the game goes on.
