Matchmaking in Normals

I don't even ranked, I just enjoy playing normals since ranked makes me feel pressured.

Anyways, Lately, for the past 20 or so games, I've been matched against low plats to low diamond elo players, Why? Just Why? I keep getting pubstomped and If I am not matched against them, I pubstomp.

How does the system work exactly?
