How come when I hit 100 LP I have to go through promo games (2-3 games) to promote to the next division. Yet, when I am at 0 LP if I lose one game I immediately demote; setting me back 3-5 games of ranked progress. (And it's not my MMR, I have over a 60% win rate with 50 games played). Anyone else thinks this is dumb?

No I started the season like Bronze 1 and have promoted up to silver I. But I won a game and then lost 2 (one of which was at 0 LP) and it was a demote.

That's your "demotion series".

- You usually gain slightly more LP than you lose.

Even with a high win rate (which I had before my massive loss streak recently) LP gains and losses do not differ very much. Like you might gain 1 more LP for winning than you would lose for losing a game.
