Demote from 1 loss at 0 LP?

How come when I hit 100 LP I have to go through promo games (2-3 games) to promote to the next division. Yet, when I am at 0 LP if I lose one game I immediately demote; setting me back 3-5 games of ranked progress. (And it's not my MMR, I have over a 60% win rate with 50 games played). Anyone else thinks this is dumb?

Have you been hovering that rank for like 10-20 games? You don't get demoted on 1 0lp game otherwise

You are shielded for the first 3 games after getting promoted.
You usually gain slightly more LP than you lose.

That means that after winning one game, it would take a minimum of 2 losses to drop to 0LP (you can also hasten the process by dodging a bunch of games), then another loss to actually get demoted.

That's your "demotion series".
