hi guys, I had an account that I made silver 2 from placements and dropped to bronze and I was wondering about any tips you would have for my placement games ( I am level 25 rn) so I have a little bit of time but any tips would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Don't lose them. It doesn't sound like you had much problem with your placements if you got s2, it just sounds like you got lucky and were placed in a division higher than your current skill level.

Not so much don't lose them, but play well. Use wards every chance you can. Don't give the enemy undeserved kills. If you're not support, make sure you have a good amount of cs. The placements don't care if you win or lose (although it helps) you can win all 10 matches and still end up bronze 5, but if you play well, end each game with a positive KDA and good stats for everything else, you'll come out higher.

The only way you're going to end up in b5 after winning all 10 of your placement games is if your mmr from a previous season was incredibly low. Winning 10/10 in your first ever placement games should place you in G5-G4. As far as I'm aware, MMR gain/loss is purely based on wins and losses, and goes up or down based on the difference in your mmr compared to the average of the enemy team.

Fair enough. I forgot about that little piece... It's most of the reason I have to climb back out of bronze every year.

False info here... placements actually do not consider your stats or KDA in any way, shape, or form. Those things don't matter for anything in League except as a small portion of the grading system...

Really? So is it strictly "you were in bronze 2 last season so we're going to start you in bronze 4 this one."? The the last couple seasons I've ended in Silver or bronze 1 and each season I've began in bronze 3-4. I play like a silver easy. I can even keep up with or outshine a few gold friends but not regularly. Kind of sucks if that's the way RIOT is controlling where you begin your consecutive seasons. I knew they limited it based on previous seasons but not that it was strictly so.

Also, don't things such as KDA, warding and other minor stats contribute to your MMR which is typically what helps determine what rank you should be in? I may be wrong on this.

No, the only thing that contributes to your MMR is whether you win or lose. And how difficult your opponents were (in terms of comparing group MMR). That's all.

And yeah, every season there's a soft reset, so you will (99% of the time) end up in a division that was lower than where you were previously. Silvers end up in Bronze, Golds end up in Silver, Plats end up in Gold, and Diamonds+ end up in Plat. The whole point is to climb up again.

Play strong champions.

Sure, you can technically get to higher elos playing only Urgot. But you're going to work much harder for it than you would playing someone who isn't shit. I'd recommend maining a champion that is almost always good and is rarely touched by Rito games, who has high carry potential. This is why I main Wukong.

This is great advice too. There are a number of Champions that have higher win rates in lower elo. I'm at 75% win rate with Katarina out of 20 games. If you can find one of these champions that you enjoy, it'll make the climb easier for you.

This is why I hate new accounts starting mmr. Like....... the fact that you got placed silver 2 and then dropped to bronze is the perfect example of why placement system is broken. You clearly got carried in your games and now your leveling up another account for w/e reason hoping to get gold? Well... if you can't even compete in silver then there should be no way you reach gold after placements. But... my buddy who can't get past mid silver did get placed gold 4 last season after getting carried in placements so..... I guess it's possible. Another shining example of broken ranked integrity.

Whats your end game though? Say you have a miracle and get placed in gold then what? If you keep playing you will ruin every game you play in and eventually get demoted to silver. You could just chill and not play ranked anymore for the season to get reward, but then next season you will drop over a tier and never get back to where you were unless you actually learn the game.

#1 advice: Dont do placements on weekends. Otherwise, you'll get pitted against a full team, and then you're screwed.

Last season i got placed S2. This season, I did placements.. lost EIGHT of them due to just ridiculous feeders/AFK/youname it. Almost nothing I could do in any of them.
