Luden's Impact

As it is now, item 3285 when proc-ing it feels not as satisfying as it's counterpart item 3087 , can the people who deals with this sort of thing at Riot give it something with a bit more 'oomph' because as it it, the majority of the time, I don't even think that it works at all.

So, what I'm suggesting is something more noticeable.

And also, I would be fine with the lightning effect because I want to go full Lord of Lightning with Kennen.

It's less a "Luden's ECHO" and more a "Zac's Fart"

ZeroFreakReth3/13/2015, 3:36:17 PM11 votes

It should do a loud echo of the ability that proc'd it.

I wish it was just purple lightning. The visual fx are really lacking

Statikk shiv proc can critically strike, Luden's cannot.

The problem is that (some) mages already have huge bursts. Introducing an item that gives more burst means that the damage on the item can't be that high or otherwise mages would just one shot everyone (except tanks). It's basically another version of deathfire grasp but the damage is loaded into one spell instead of potentially your whole kit which makes it somewhat more bearable for a single opponent.

Tbh I was expecting something more unique and opportunistic. But I guess Luden's echo is an ok item nonetheless.

I find Luden's a bit underwhelming in general. The item basically helps waveclear or single target burst champs to be more prominent in teamfights. Most mages with a few exceptions have very little problem wavelcaring, and most popular mages right now already have the multi target spells.

I realize it wasn't meant to be a DFG replacement, but I think it is kind of worthless. ADCs grab static to clear waves faster. By the time a mage is buyiing Ludens, they are probably mid game and clearing waves fine. Of course, one could claim ludens adds to their burst, but that would be deceiving themselves. 100 + 15% AP once every hundred units/ten spells is very little considering the price. Compare it to Lich Bane, which procs every spell, gives you the same movement speed buff, and has a 50% Ap burst, procing about ten times as fast as Ludens.

Double proc Kennen sounds like fun.

owerall riot missed with the passive they made an item for spellslingers while i would see it more on bursty mages or mages who incorporate mobility in their spells

spell spamming is not as potent as autoatacking, an adc always launches more of autos and i should sa a lot more while riot gave this item the same mechanic static has with the diference of spells charging it instead of autos so mages who are meant to use it and proc it often( thus get this impact you dont feel) just cant use it while bursty mages or mobile mages who can walk/jump to stack it should see it a nice addition, kinda lackluster but potent as follow up item for rabbadons

so owerall conslusion is that item is a failure and needs tuning

I don't think it seem as satisfying as Shiv is an early game item on an ADC and helps more with with waveclear than anything where as Luden's is more of a small extra burst to your late game damage as I don't see many champions rushing it like Shiv. It does give a high movespeed boost though, so I think its geared to suit kitey longrange casters like Xerath or Velkoz. The problem is that I don't see them giving up anything in their build to pick up this item unless they weren't going to build a defensive item like Banshee's or GA.

The lightning from item 3087 can also crit so just by that it does tons more damage even if it can't scale like item 3285 .

N0TY0U3/14/2015, 2:24:21 AM1 votes

I like the way it is atm. I'd rather it not be a copy of item 3087.

ecneregilleb3/14/2015, 2:59:47 AM1 votes

I personally don't want item 3285 to have a lightning effect. It would just be a copy of item 3087 at that point. That's even more boring.

Very Hard Engage3/13/2015, 1:34:49 PM1 votes

the power lies in the MS not the proc effect.

If it gets "oomph" then make Stattik Shiv deal 15% of your AD like Luden's gets for AP.

The only thing I would like them to rework is the visual/sound effects on it. I've started building this item on Diana and I've noticed a pretty big difference in her burst when it's fully charged..... Usually I have to do a whole Q,R,W,E,R rotation to assassinate someone....... But with Luden's echo fully charged, I usually don't even have to use the E and second R... Which then allows me to be more of an impact in team fights since my ultimate doesnt go on CD after just taking out one target. I don't know.... I like the item a lot so far, but I wish it was more noticeable when you proc'd it.
