Smurfs

Since I'm in Silver, I tend to play with many different types of players. You get: 1.The actual Silvers, better than bronze players, just not quite enough for Gold. 2.The bronze players that got lucky on provis 3.The washed out golds that are now in low silver "bcuz trols in promos i shuld be plat" 4.The smurfs Smurfs honestly ruin the game, if anyone is actually revealing they are a smurf, they deserve to get that account that they're boosting banned, because it makes the game unfair for those who are actually trying to play with their skill level. I know, I know, "the only way you can improve is by playing with better people" Totally bullshit when you consider that you're literally being stomped by a professional player as an elementary schooler. One example some asshole in my recent game says he's smurfing and constantly stomps on bronze people, claiming to be skilled and "stay bronze noobs" and "gg easy" at the end of a close game. Get these people off league (oh, and Annie )

I agree with the OP, just tossing a reminder out there that you should remove the summoner's name as "Naming and Shaming" is frowned upon on the forums and could lead to your thread getting deleted by moderators.

  1. Smurfing != Boosting, unless they are playing on someone else's account in order to raise that account's elo. If the high elo player owns the low elo account themselves then it's not boosting.
  2. Riot has already approved smurfing, many times. Pro players do it on stream all the time and Riot doesn't care. Smurfing isn't and shouldn't be bannable.

If they're toxic on the smurf account then they can get banned, but not just for smurfing.

Can it be done? Yes

Should it be done? Absolutely

Will it be done? Of course not

Smurfing is a huge problem for newer players pre-30 and climbing players at 30. The entire point of the ranking system is so that players of equal skill are competing against each other in games. Smurfing destroys the very fabric of the design of their system.

Of course, we all know Riot is too busy counting money, appealing to the LCS players and designing overloaded champions to care about anything like this.

Youd prolly have better luck getting Riot attention if you sent them a carrier pigeon. At least they would have to acknowledge the pigeon in some manner.

You do get better by playing with and against people better than you.

To a point.

Eventually however you're playing with someone who is so much better that you have no idea what to take away from the experience. Everything they do is so far out of your league that you don't even know what to do differently. They could be trolling and still stomp you flat. That's the situation a lot of people face when they run into smurfs.

But the flip side is a lot of people use it as an excuse, either for their own failure as a player or to dismiss an enemy who is doing well. 'That guy's a smurf' or 'I'm a smurf on my other acct, I'm just messing around' are two very, very common excuses I see. It would be interesting sometime to see the actual numbers on smurfing, but sadly such information would be very difficult to gather.

Never happen. Riot would lose money.
