STOP BUFFING CHAMPS BASED ON POPULARITY

The last buffs that Zed got are nonsense. "We want Zed to be better early game while having the damage to split push late game". Why in the entire world would you give more dmg to a champion with free lane? He has range, safety, a spammable Q and now he has damage early game? And can split push too? Meanwhile Talon has to buy Tiamat to clear and split push so he will always be 1 item behind, he sacrifices safety for tons of damage and range for an unique gap closer, and his laning phase is worse than it was in the beggining because of the ners he recived. In lane you will barely hit your W to harass if the enemy knows the matchup and you have to risk your hp bar by going in your enemy's face and dodge skillshots to hit your combo. Meanwhile Zed has safer and faster means of dealing damage, but the damage is as big/bigger than Talon's? This comparation clearly shows that they simply buffed Zed because of his massive popularity, meanwhile they forgot Talon even exists. I want to make it clear that this is not a post about Talon being weak and needing buffs. He is balanced with perfect powers and weaknesses. This post is about Zed being buffed and overpowered for no reason.

NO, HOURGLASS IS NOT HIS COUNTER. By this logic, Hourglass is the counter of every assassin , yet you dont see anyone being buffed besides everyone's favourite, Zed. If you need Hourglass first item, it means you are behind. If you are behind, it means Zed can kill you countless times until you get that item. And not every champ in the enemy team will build it. He will just proceed to one shot your ADC, and if he is ahead and has Duskblade, Yommumu's and Transcendence in his runes he already has 30% CDR at min 15. Either do something about his damage that should be lower since he has range and safety, or do something about his W. Lower the damage dealt by the shadow or make the shadow last fewer seconds. All he has to do is to place his W and you are already zoned since you dont know if you re gonna be half hp because 2Q and Electrocute, slowed and then R'ed or if he's gonna teleport to his W and dodge your skill shots. A spell that zones you and forces you in lane to stay near your tower because of it's unpredictability for so many seconds is toxic.

Either do this or buff Talon , kappa [garen-swing]

Zed also lost the extra AD he would get if he killed someone with his R so that nerf balances his damage increase.

I think an easy tip for Zed is that you have to play around his cooldowns. Try to get more poke off when his Living Shadow is on cooldown. Or even try to bait an engage or aggressive W when your jungler is waiting to gank. If he spams his abilities and shoves you under tower, it leaves him more vulnerable to ganks and poke. He essentially has to use his W defensively or else he's trapped.

I agree on this patch he's a bit overtuned, but he hasn't been strong in quite some time. You have to play against him differently than you would a control mage. If he doesn't get those first kills, he has no late game. Play safe, outscale, counter assassins.

Yes, Zed is balanced. That's why his Q damage and W CD just got nerfed just as I said he deserves lmao.

Why are people talking about matchups when OP is talking about how Riot prioritizes popular champions when it comes to balancing?

I think it more so has to do with a champion's mechanical skillcap. Zed has a higher skillcap than Talon (in Riot's eyes), so therefore he deserves to have everything. Having a much higher playrate also makes Zed far more profitable.

I don't agree with it either, but it's just how it is.
