please help poor asian boy to stabilize his data consumption

Recently, for the past week, League would use up a lot of data for one game. Usually a couple of games would take about 400 mb like that, so imagine my surprise when the data I planned to use for the week has been used up almost entirely in a day!

Right now, I'm actually sad because a girl I really like just started playing League and I was in the middle of teaching her the basics of League when my phone just told me about 100% of my mobile data has been used up. I tried switching to my router at home but no hope.

Hopefully some of you can help me because I don't really know how to deal with this rather than buying faster internet ( which is hopeless) or finding out what's using up my mobile data. Is there any other way to find out what might be interfering with it? Please?

i tried posting on reddit but the dumbass bot wouldn't let me do it so desperate as i am, i've come here.

(p.s i don't want rito to suck me dry so pls i'll do anything)

(p.s.s i'm from southeast asia so if there's any correlation with me using the NA server please lemme know please i'm so desperate)

edit: this is the first time in 2 months i've checked this, i honestly forgot so thank you to all the people that replied

IDK mate, usually LoL games consume very small amounts of data. Like, playing 3-4 games was the equivalent of a 10 min yt video for me.

Doesn't your company provide combo packs for gaming?

Make sure

  • You don't have any streaming applications like Spotify, Amazon Music, ITunes, Google Music etc open while playing
  • Windows isn't automatically downloading updates in the background.
  • Programs like Steam, Origin or UPLAY are not downloading updates automatically.

Use wifi instead of data? (try turning it off maybe that helps with connecting to router)

Try combining your LTE and ethernet connections. Also, make sure you set your cellular connection to "metered" to prevent Windows from downloading updates via that connection. And last but not least, ensure that you don't have any other programs running in the background that consume your date.

Last time I played via LTE, I was using about 15 MB per match (5v5 Normal/Ranked)
