The Mastery Level Ranking System is Broken
I don't comment here at all, and I play this game pretty casually - just for fun. I'm not even ranked, I don't even own 16 champions. I do play a lot of video games though, and tend to be a perfectionist in many games I do play. That's why when I wanted to get level 7 with my favorite champ, Yasuo, I wasn't going to give up until I got it. I'm level 6, and do have one level 7 token, but with some of the amazing games I've played, it is just blowing my mind how low a ranking I keep getting.
I went 15 and 0, only got an A-. In the next game I went negative, 13 and 16, and got an A+. I went 25/15/25, and got my first S token. I get that it's not all about kills. I understand. But sometimes in a game there isn't time for the other things you need to do to earn an S.
If your team is doing well, the enemy is more likely to surrender. If you are doing so well that you are on your way to earning an S, then the enemy must be doing really bad, making them even more likely to ff. This makes getting S's unreasonably, uncontrollably harder.
In the last game I played as Yas, I went 17 and 0, most kills in game, least deaths in game, most minions in game, most gold in game, and only get an S-. This is really demoralizing and starting to turn me off to the whole game. And guess what? I was Yas adc. So if it really is comparing you to the people playing your role in the lane you are in, I'm not sure I believe that. I've never seen another Yas adc do well. I only saw it two other times, and they both got wrecked, so I don't know how it's comparing me to some other S class Yas adc's that don't exist.
The ranking system needs to compare you proportionally to the time spent in game. I don't think its doing this. This could explain why it's so much harder to get an S in a game where the enemy surrenders.
This thread is mostly to vent my frustrations. Been trying for over a week now, and only have 1 level 7 token, but more S-'s than I can count.
