Yasuo's Steel Tempest Late Game

I know this is probably an old topic, but I still haven't found the answer yet. Yasuo's auto attacks do 10% less damage on a critical strike and his Steel Tempest spell does 25% less damage on a critical strike. Because of this, his Steel Tempest will do less damage at just over 300 attack damage on critical strikes and since he's Yasuo, you will have 100% critical strike chance.

I have 2 questions about this. 1, what is the point of the massive damage reduction on Steel Tempest and 2, is it worth using Steel Tempest at all late game because it does less damage?

When looking at these questions, please remember that Yasuo's Steel Tempest does have extra range, can hit multiple targets and leads to the airborne ability which has a lot of range and allows for his Last Breath to be used.

Steel Tempest does AOE damage. If it did as much as his critical AAs, it would definitely cause problems.

Nonetheless, it is definitely worth it to use Steel Tempest. As I mentioned earlier, it can hit multiple people with just Q or an EQ combo. It also provides him with a knock up every 2.67 or 4 seconds late game if he uses his Q whenever off CD and hits something with it. (2.67 if Q is already off CD at first Q, 4 for all subsequent knock ups to factor in the CD after the third strike)

Steel Tempest can also be used to override the AA animation. Even if it is reduced damage, it is still free damage.

You said it yourself: Steel Tempest is AoE, allows him to get an AoE knockup, has greatly increased range, and can be used in between autoattacks. It does less damage then autoattacks after a while (only slightly), but that is because of how powerful it is.

As mentioned, the AoE nature of steel tempest is HUGE.

But, in something like a 1v1 situation where you already ulted, or arent using your ult, then there isnt a reason to use it.

EDIT: Unless you want to use the range to kit/chase.

Answer 1: Because getting blown away (pun intended) by a tornado that can crit at full power and hit multiple targets would be super bullshit.

Answer 2: if it's up, yes. It's a chunk of damage, AOE CC, and leads into his ult. Which is also high powered and technically cc in itself. So yes, it is totally worth using, with some exceptions depending on the situation.
