My duo partner went 10-0 in his placement games and went from s3 to b4.. Half those games he didn't even die. Is it bugged or is Riot harder on placement this year? I'm 8-0 in my placement so far and now I'm not even excited to keep going.. Not a great business aspect.. Anyone else having these issues?

disregardable1 votesSoft reset is only 150-200 MMR, meaning if you go 5-5 in your placements, you should drop one or two divisions. If you have 7 wins, you should not drop, and if you have 10 wins, your rank should increase.
That is assuming that you're matched against people at the same mmr you were before the placements, which dynamic queue threw out the window.
Dreadlocks1 votesThats cuz its not really a "soft" reset, they should stop giving us these bullshit phrases that arnt accurate and just tell us that it is a "hard" reset. (not salty just saying riot should tell it like like it is)
disregardable1 votesA hard reset would actually be completely ignoring the last season's rankings, so that whether you were Diamond or Bronze you'd be thrown into the same games.

disregardable1 votesYeah, it seems that having grouped up with the dynamic queue is negatively impacting MMR. That's why they disabled it.
I only grouped up for 1 game and I dropped 4 divisions ffs.
Brockinroll1 votesAlso takes in to account the player you played against how those matches went and what you accomplished in preason. Basically same thing ahppend to me last year, get over it. it happens
