"Loss Prevented"

I just played a game after the servers came back up, and one person had disconnected from beginning to the end of the game where we surrendered. If this can be a system while servers are on maintenance, why can't this always be a thing?

For example, in ranked, someone is gone for 15+ minutes, could there be a "loss prevented" feature?

EDIT: after reviewing, I realized that a 4v5 could still be a close game, what are your guys' ideas?

The issue is that people would abuse the system. If you're going to lose (or think you are) and teamed up with others, just have somebody else take the hit and afk. Or bully whoever fed some lane until they afk. It encourages a negative experiences.

That said, Riot did say they are looking at some scenarios to allow early surrenders when somebody is dc at the start the the match with less or no LP loss. It's just hard to find a good spot of being effective and opening a door to allow abuse and create a toxic environment as a result.

I just won a 4v5 basically, Our Zyra didn't stay connected to the game til 12 mins in, we were down 8-2 in kills.

Just farmed it out and she regained stability and we won.

Still should be a mercy feature though, but I as always, It could be abused and would.
