AP Casters are in a horrible spot

As someone who loves playing long range AP caster champions(Xerath ,Ziggs ,Lux ,Velkoz ), I find it hard to do well in a lot of the match-ups that are currently meta. With the new assassin update, I feel that alone puts champions like these at the bottom tiers due to their biggest counters receiving massive amounts of changes, making them extremely popular. I am not saying these caster champions aren't viable because everyone knows the later the game gets the stronger these champions become. Another thing that makes them even weaker is the ever increasing popularity of heavy dive junglers such as Hecarim ,Shyvana ,Zac ,Rengar ,Vi (I think everyone can agree that being deleted by a Hecarim is the worst feeling in League of Legends due to the lack of counterplay). I feel as if these types of mid laners are too easily countered and are not able to be played against the popular mid/jungle picks atm.

So your saying you can't play Champs that use skill shots ? Banshees veil is a thing you know to counter people

All of those champions have fairly good laning phases against assassins due to their long range and strong waveclear.

Vel'koz in particular is a nightmare for melee assassins since he can often delete them with his ultimate.

They need to be weak to all-in and diving because they are so good at lane control, pushing, farming and poking from a distance.

I completely agree with you, but considering the popularity of heavy dive/all-in champions, arguable an immobile AP caster's most PROMINENT weakness, they are just too easy to counter.
