Provisionals and BS

I have never been higher than Bronze 3 and when that happened it was for a solid week. I flex Q with 2 friends of mine maximum and i face players silver and up. Yesterday i played against a plat 5 and i was already placed at bronze 5 the lowest elo on their team was bronze 1. How is this fair? I consistently lose games because i get matched against people of higher elo.
