Question about Gangplank

I love Gangplank, and he is my most played champ, but I have one question, when is ArPen GP better than Critplank. Please don't just say "when they have more tanks). Thank you!

Tbf the answer really is when they have tanks with lots of hp and armor. I mean if they have a super anti physical tanky team the best way to do dps is maximizing barrel poke. If they start stacking randuins crit is gonna lose its edge pretty quick.

you really only build armor pen if there are tanks on any champ lets be fair here if you build full armor pen and they have no armor you dont pen anything

The armor pen build spikes earlier into the game, but doesn't scale as well as the crit build, if you need the early power or don't expect the game to last until late then go for the armor pen build. Generally the pen builds aren't because of tanks as people are building flat pen rather than %, which will increase your damage more reliably vs lower armored targets.

An in between option is to do what some GP players are doing and building a mix between armor pen and crit, building the pen items first and then if they do hit late game finishing off the build with crit items.
