Locked camera mode?

I am a pretty bad, relatively new player, who's recently hit 30. I've been using looked camera all this time, but I hear I'm not supposed to? So if not explain to me why I shouldn't use a locked camera or tell me if its okay.

Depends on what your expectation of yourself is, I know of someone who has made it to plat who always plays locked screen but they probably could have made it farther if they played unlocked.

The reason you would want to learn to play unlocked is: You can see enemies sooner/ in more detail than mini map You have more time to react to skill shots You have a better chance of predicting with your skill shots

The reason you would want to play locked screen: You don't have to worry about moving the camera You always know exactly where your character is on the screen

The counter argument to playing locked screen: If you need to find yourself you can always press space

Personally I have always used unlocked so it feels weird to me to not be able to look at other places or just have the screen offset from myself

I play using both. I only rely on unlocked to look around the map and give my teammates a heads up on enemy whereabouts, or when I'm facing a champ with range so I can react and dodge. Other than that, I keep it locked so that the screen keeps a steady movement when I'm running or chasing an enemy. With ranged champs like Ashe and Nidalee whose skills travel a long way, unlocked will be of great help in aiming and targeting from afar. Definitely learn how to play with it unlocked, it'll help.

Play what feels comfortable to you.

Its like telling someone to play Default controls for an Xbox controller when you play Legacy Southpaw or vice versa.

If it works for you, then use it.

If you need to work on a problem associated with your style, then make a workaround it.
