It's seems as if one is not what people claim he is, which one?
Or maybe one of the two is both an early game and late game champ (completely unhealthy imo)

Why should early game champs win most of the time against late game champs?
Yes GP is a late game champ. Yes Renekton is an early game champ. But that, in itself, doesn't mean that Renekton should win.
As for why Renekton vs GP has a 40% winrate: Renek has no fitting Keystone while GP is one of the biggest beneficiary of Kleptomancy. Nothing to do with being an early or late game champ.
Well, GP is a pseudo-melee, rather than a full melee champ, he can W the stun so he can fight back unlike most of the champs , that get bullied without being able to respond. And also GP is still broken.
