Maokai- WHY?

Level 46, single post, im going to guess new to league.

Maokai's ultimate is far from "best", it is fairly slow and those that ARE hit by it generally could care less.... he can sometimes bully lane, but vs quite a few bruisers he lacks the ability to actually duel them well. He is very mana hungry especially early on. Honestly a great tank early elos, but is kinda average later on in elos. He doesnt do... enough. He is average in everwhere when people want to excel in something.

It’s root duration is fairly low if used at close range for more immediate rooting. If farther out, the duration is better but it moves rather slow. Maokai needs to predict to get a longer range one right. It’s damage also isn’t that great and you just need to stand behind an ally to avoid it.
