Ezreal + Luden's Echo?

So I've been trying EzrealEzreal lately (especially with URF being back) and I realized that Ezreal's ''Q'' isn't triggering Luden's Echo'sitem 3285 passive which bothers me a lot since the tip says ''upon spell hit'' and, even if the Q is his only physical ability, it's still a spell.

I mean, even Smitesummoner 11 triggers Luden's Echo, but not Ez's ''Q''.

Is it only him or have you seen other champs with physical abilities that aren't triggering Luden's passive? Is that voluntarily done so AD based champs have no advantage picking Luden's Echo or is it an error in the programming of it?

Can't wait for your answers guys.

I seriously don't get this. Why do people keep making this thread? Is it seriously that difficult to differentiate between spells that apply on hit effects and spells that apply spell effects? They are mutually exclusive. Ezreal's q applies one, not the other.

They are mutually exclusive.

Sadly, there's exceptions (i.e.: Fizz's Urchin Strike).

But this ability works in 2 parts.

Actually, Fizz's Q isn't what procs the Luden's! It's his W's passive. If you AA a minion with Luden's up, it'll proc randomly.

I tested it a few days ago when it was discovered that Seastone Trident proc'd spell effects.

Urchin Strike procs on-hit and spell effects (single target, i.e.: 35% Rylai's). Seastone Trident's active counts as a single target spell as well. The passive gets the AoE/DoT penalty (i.e.: 15% Rylai's).

Fun fact, Luden's Echo procs spell effects.

Fizz's passive is the only passive that actually procs it. It's weird... Teemo's E, Varus's W, and even Kog's W don't. They're considered 'On-Hit Effects'. I don't understand why Fizz's W's passive isn't since it is an on-hit passive.

It says on-hit. (From http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Ezreal) "ACTIVE: Ezreal fires a bolt of energy in a line that will deal physical damage and apply on-hit effects to the first enemy it hits. If it strikes an enemy unit, all of Ezreal's cooldowns will be reduced by 1 second." The super difference here is that his 'q' applies on-hit effects. Not on-spell. It's a big difference. If you wanna know what Luden's Echo procs with. Go to http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/ and find a champion you are curious that Luden's will proc off of. Such as let's say... Gang Plank. http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Gangplank now if you scroll down to his 'q' and hit "detail" IF YOU CANT FIND THAT IT PROCS SPELL VAMP IT WILL NOT PROC LUDEN'S ECHO. Any ability that procs spell vamp will proc Luden's Echo. I.E.: Ezreal's 'W''E''R' All will proc it. Plus if you are going AP Ezreal you should be maxing your 'W' then 'E' first anyways.
