Why Caitlyn needs major changes
Over the past few patches ive personally seen a lot more Long guns of the law
feeding their asses off in botlanes be it mine or the enemies. While the vast majority of them do poorly KDA wise, they tend to do well in farm and are around the same stage in their build as the enemy adc.
When ive asked the players why they pick cait over other adcs, the primary answer i've gotten is her auto attack range. The only competition to her 650 AA range is a late game

(with a maxed Q), and a
with ult active, making her very appealing to many people as it provides easy harass while avoiding the enemys AAs. However she lacks mobility (one small dash every 16ish seconds), and she truly lacks sustained damage compared to other ADCS. ive watched a 4 item

without even losing half of their hp.
From witnessing these slaughters ive come to realize how much of a feast or famine kit cait has. She has SO MUCH potential to just burst people down with those headshot crit combos especially if they are trapped. However, she can only activate these headshots every 7 autos (a few less if she gets a little closer to her enemies and has
or is in a bush). without those headshots her damage is negligible to the other adcs, and they will easily get into range and kill her unless somebody can create a 500ish unit berth around her. I suppose in a well organized team this could be accomplished, but when not in a 5 man group allies leave you behind, or enemies can
in. Generally i've seen she gets dumpstered on because of these flaws.
Even her spells fall off late game. Her Q is good though the early and mid game but by late game even if it hits the enemy adc directly it does about 300 damage while the adc will just crit her for 500 to 700. Her ult isnt that spectacular either. While the damage on it is just fine and it can burst even tanks, it is negligible compared to somebody like
and his ult. Which has about the same range but can output about 4x the damage and apply crowd control while doing so.
TLDR: Im just tired of seeing so many
s get chosen just because people wanna have an easier time in lane but them get destroyed by an adc who can output almost twice the damage she can with the same items. The amount of flaming, and afking coming from people playing
because they become useless is saddening to see. People see the potential in her but it is so hard to actually achieve and the majority of the time they end up feeding. Personally I think
a fine champion and this long attack range suits her playstyle well, but i also feel there are multiple issues that should be adressed to compensate for these flaws. Because she is a popular pick, leaving her in the state of "get 8 kills by 10 minutes or be fairly useless for the rest of the game" often times only brings frustration to the player and 4 other members of her team.
and even the occasional
completely blow up/tilt your entire team into feeding/afking/flaming/callingpeopleboostedanimals and generally ruining literally every single game I play.
